All I can say is life on the settlement sure is interesting for Elijah. I think up through chapter 12, there has been an emphasis on building the image of the town and its people. I am interested to see what you all think of the Preacher? Quite frankly I keep getting annoyed that Elijah doesn't see that he is up to no good. I'm worried that he is going to actually get Elijah into trouble, more so than he has almost been in thus far. We stopped at an interesting point, exactly where I am almost certain something major is going to happen (I promise I did not read ahead...though I want to, haha).
On another note, whats going to happen to MaWee? I feel bad that he is so lost and doesn't understand that he is free. I like how Elijah states that the best way to learn anything is to actually have it happen to them, this seems like this will be the case with MaWee and I like to think he'll be happy in the end. But, this brings me back to the Preacher, what does he actually do for the settlement? Its not clear that he preaches but it is clear he has a pistol and knows how to use it. I think that he is going to get into a lot of trouble with in soon enough. I look forward to hearing what you all thought of the book so far.
