Did you think this had a weak ending?

I love the book and I watched the movie a couple of months before. It is very humorous, very and I love all the one liners. I would have rated this higher but I thought that the ending was mediocre, although it was a nice way to end it.

what are your opinions?

I liked the book's ending better. In the film it is cleaner and happier, as if all the problems have been solved. The book's ending though stands more true to life, the death of uniqueness to try to fit in with herd, the sad relinquishing of the self during teenage years. I loved that Marcus became more Willish and Will became more Marcusish-- that the relationship and the novel's course was about an exchange. I commend Will's character on who he became and understand why Marcus became a snotty teen by the end. It showed that there is a balance to being interesting, something that Will needs to gain, and being unremarkable, a trait Marcus needs to learn-- the book's end explores that complexity while the movie just shows a seamless crossover into social nirvana.

Can't disagree. Wasn't a bad ending, but it wasn't as awesome as the rest of the book either.

I think it was fine and quite matched the story.

I've just finished the book, and at the moment the ending does seem a bit weak, but I'm going to contemplate for a bit before settling for an opinion.
I was disappointed that Marcus seems to be losing his individuality because that's how the last page comes across as, but I guess it was more of a learning to fit in, than losing himself.

It was a quick ending, but nothing wrong with it. I can't remember how the movie ended, as I only saw it when it came out.

ı don't think the ending satisfied me. When ı was reading the book I expected more from it.
