I'm not even a gamer but you've got me sold on this one. I miss Marty and Doc!!! Gonna buy this one for my daughter (wink, wink).

Its especially ideal for non regular gamers as its very easy to progress through...so easy in fact that this may be a negative for those who want more of a challenge. There are also hint levels of which the highest level practically gives the solution away! My recommendation is to only use the hints when you are absolutely stuck.
Having now completed all five episodes, i would rate it 9/10.
I do have a gripe, although the characters continue to be deliciously entertaining, the storyline becomes rather careless with the time travel elements which I feel contains too many anomolies. But then again so did the movies. Perhaps those anomolies I found can be explained by the clever minded amongst as, such as John :)
Oh and Tracey, play the game together with your daughter ;)

There's nothing I love more than to discuss time travel anomolies. However, I didn't realize that I had already developed a reputation in this group.

Wow, first I've heard of this - sounds intriguing. And I just bought a console 6 months ago!

I just picked up this game for the Wii, and I LOVE IT. At first, I thought they were going to re-write the movie, but it is really more of a continuation of the trilogy. The only question I have so far is where the Delorian came from since it was destroyed at the end of part three. But I am still in the first episode, so perhaps they will explain that as the game progresses.
Sure enough. They do offer an explanation in the first episode of how the Delorian survived the destruction documented in the final movie. I won't give any details in case others are planning to check out this game. But I will say that I found the explanation less than satisfying.

Yeah, its not a great explanation, if I recall the Doc was quite dismissive over it but the writers had to bring back the Delorean somehow! The plot has holes John, beware of that but so did the movies (though not as much).

Plot holes is what makes it all fun. It gives us something to argue about and feel superior... as if we know more about time travel than the author/producer/programmer.
Haha, but as you are the most cleverest among us on de-constructing time travel anomalies, I shall apply a just a little pressure on you filling those plot holes for use ;)
Most cleverest? No.
Biggest geek with no life who chooses to pick apart plot holes in time travel stories? Yes.

Well, I have completed the first three episodes, and all I can say is THIS GAME ROCKS!!! I love how each time they fix one problem another is created. This could go on forever. Let's hope they are able to set everything right in the final episode.
Thats one of the traits of Back to the Future though, isnt it? The fact that everything they try to fix and another problem (mostly even worse) presents itself. Could we call it a moral? Um...dont try to fix things? Doesnt sound right. Dont tamper with time in the first place? I'm sure there's a moral in there somewhere I just cant quite tap it.
Glad your really enjoying it as much as I did. Look forward to your overall view when you finished it.
My Favourite new character has to be the teenage Emmett Brown, what a fun character.

I don't know. Rebel Jennifer from the alternate 1986 is pretty cool too. How about this for a moral: learn to be content with the present.
Well, I finished the final episode last night and all I can say is THIS GAME ROCKS!!! Oh, wait. I already said that in an earlier post. Oh, well. It's worth repeating. I especially loved the ending, which paid homage to the ending of the original movie. If you are a video game fan and have not checked out this game yet, what are you waiting for? Get it now. You won't be disappointed. When I last checked, it is available for both PS3 and Wii.
...and PC ;)
I played the game twice, second time around, I rolled it like a movie for my mother who is a big fan of the movies and she was absolutely loving the story as I played through it for her.

I D/L all 5 parts on my PS3 middle of last year, and I enjoyed playing it. I've lost track on how many times I've watched the movies.
Everyone, for this weekend only, Gog.com is selling this game at 80% discount for only $4.99!!!
Get it, if you love Back to the Future, you will LOVE this game! As John said above, quote: "THIS GAME ROCKS!!!".
I am buying it again because I only had the PS3 version which was split into 5 episodes. This version is combined as a whole and it'll be nice to play it on my PC too.

And Once again, this awesome faithful adventure game to the beloved franchise is on a sale at $3.24 until 13th Jan 9pm PST. It seems they do this every six months going by the pattern of my last two posts.
If you are a BTTF fan this is MUST BUY.
Christopher LLoyd voices Doc Brown and the voice of Marty sounds exactly like Michael J Fox who himself is also in the latter part of the game voicing relatives/ancestors of Marty. The story is insanely fun just like the films, in fact its written by Bob Gale who co-wrote the film trilogy. The voice cast are superb..oh just a pure joy guys, as long as you can adjust to the "cartoon" style of it. Give it a go. Its as loving a tribute as you can get to the films.
Here's a trailer:

Buy it here for the price of a Cappuccino at Gog:

And if you dont trust my judgement then surely you trust John's who said earlier in the thread:

Aww sorry you missed it.
OK there is a current promotion to play this game on an Ipad. Now the game was released in 5 parts but the Ipad has bundled it together for $9.99...sort of.
The first part is free for a limited time. Then parts 2-5 is bundled together for $9.99
So just go on your app store or itunes
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/back-...
The is the cheapest way to play the game that I can find.
Otherwise wait another 6 months for it go down again as that seems to be the pattern :(

Saw your GOG post and went to the site. Got the game for $2.74. Had a bit of trouble getting it to work (had to update my direct X) but now it seems to be doing ok. Very cool :)

So how many of you are still yet to play this awesome game? What?! You didnt know there was a sequel to the movies starring all the major characters of the films and voice by many of the original cast including Christopher LLoyd and even Michael J Fox? What the hell??? Dont you ever scroll down the Time Travel Group page to the gaming section??! ;)
OK, seriously...I find it tragic that so many Back to the Future fans are unaware of this game, unaware of the fact that this is a bona fide sequel, unaware of how brilliantly faithful to the originals it is and unaware of how awesome the game continues the story and adventures of Marty and Doc Emmett Brown. Yes, its a game, yes it's animated but the spirit of the movies are absolutely intact and the story (co-written by the films original writer, Bob Gale) is a knockout.
With the iconic special date coming up (you know the date, October 21st 2015) now is the time to give this wonderful game your attention.

I'm filing this in my brain for when we ever buy a game system. You had me at "bona fide sequel".

Also add Life is Strange to your brain file :)
These games are on PC too but it is more pleasurable to play from a sofa on a games console (Playstation or X-Box).
Every six months (as seem to be the pattern going by my posts on this thread), the game is discounted from $25 down to just $3-5 dollars. As its Back to the Future day, the game would likely be full price but keep it in mind that it will likely be heavily discounted again at some point!

Yes, I've had that one in mind, too. It sounds really interesting.

Marty is voiced by a soundalike but GREAT SCOTT does he sound like MJF, you would never tell them apart.
The gameplay is of the point and click adventure type, a genre I have always been in love with since my spectrum days.
Its very easy to play and progress through the delightfully frenetic story that begins in 1986 then 1931, with alternative realities thrown in for good measure. The chemistry between Doc and Marty is as good as it was in the films and even tugs the heart strings sometimes.
The game is split into 5 episodes which were released every 1 or 2 months over the last year but is now available as one whole pack for £16.99 (UK). In the states I expect it will be around the same price equivalent. But if you have a PS3, just go ahead and download the Demo first right now for free.
Its also available on PC (actually it was released on PC first).
