I love what Miranda's mom says about our veils.

"Mom says each of us has a veil between ourselves and the rest of the world, like a bride wears on her wedding day, except this kind of veil is invisible. We walk around happily with these invisible veils hanging over our faces. The world is kind of blurry, and we like it that way."

Another favorite - I laughed out loud when her mom referred to people being "as dumb as a bag of hair."

Then there's Marcus quoting Einstein, "Common sense is just a habit of thought. It's how we're used to thinking about things, but a lot of time it just gets in the way." How true!

Oh yes, that quote about the veils is so deep and a little chilling for me. I agree, the veil is kind of comfortable at times, no?
