Angie In "The Penultimate Peril", the author puts the topic of how everyone in your life is going to fail you one day, the two main reactions one may have and that not forgiving is easier and more enjoyable than doing it.

What is amazing is that I agree with him, every word he wrote I found it absolutely true. I think that everyone (even your dearest and closest relationship) is going to disappoint you and fail you one day, even if the issue is insignificant.

It is also amazing that instead of saying that not forgiving and turn your back is bad, cruel and horrible and makes you feel worse and being alone (as your parents, teachers and moral believes normally establish and predicate), he said something of more common sense.

Do you also agree that everyone is going to fail you one day?

Steve I think the more important point Snicket/Handler makes is that human beings cannot be perfect so we must have the capacity to forgive, or at least try to make the best of a bad situation, or we will all end up as savages.

Angie I agree with you, nobody is perfect and we need to take everything with a pinch of salt.

Also there are times when we fail to someone, we give the excuse that others failed you first. And also, when you admit your failure, instead of calm themselves, they still twist the knife and make you feel worse.
