If you like to talk books and you're not on Twitter, go sign up ASAP! I've only been on Twitter for two months, but I am loving it as a great place to meet fellow book lovers, converse with authors and publishers, and enter tons of book giveaways. Please join me!

I've created a hashtag for our group, and for anyone else who wants to join in a discussion on American historical fiction, and that tag is #Americanhistfic

If you're on Twitter, won't you send an introductory tweet using our hashtag? If you need some help getting started with Twitter, feel free to send me a message and I'll do my best to help!

Happy reading, ya'll!

Looks like the hashtag thing hasn't taken off. I've been tweeting for several months. Beware, its addictive. I'm on there to flog my books around but I've made several good contacts and have been asked to guest blog a couple times. Not sure how all the social media stuff ties in but I see my reviews get tweeted.
Figuring out what is going on is tricky. Twitter has been referred to as being at a loud party where everyone is talking at once. I was looking at a blog today that did a good explanation of what's going on. I'll tweet it in the shortened link format if I can find it.

#Americanhistfic definitely not trending on twitter. For those intimidated, here's a link on how to

Primarily geared towards writers.

Jacquie (jacquierogers) | 5 comments I just used it, but must admit, I have a hard time remembering hashtags. They're very useful for RT'ing other members' book and blog tweets, though, so I'll try to be more vigilant.

Haley Whitehall (haleywhitehall) | 7 comments Wonderful! I will start using the #Americanhistfic. Perhaps we can get it trending. I started a hashtag a few months ago #lightonhistory as a place for historical fiction writers and readers to communicate as well.

I do find twitter to be a great place to connect with authors and readers. Hashtags make it easy to follow your favorite genres.
