I did not expect the book to be that different from the movie. I prefer the movie (It's one of my favorites). The book is well written however I though it would be similar to the movie. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading it.

I'm speechless, don't know how to describe this novel, i'm writing my review now with eyes shedding tears... "For you, a thousand times over!"
I've learned a lot of things about Afghanistan, and Pakistan from this novel. a story with a tremendous numbers of events that have struggles, hope, poverty, sacrifice, and good friendship!
I haven't cried that much while reading a book as i have done with this novel. I won't forget Amir agha, Hassan and of course Sohrab jan.
An unforgettable story, i recommend it to anyone who wants to read a great novel

This one had a slow start, but the ending made up for it. Really curious about the next one but I'm gonna take a break and read some other types of books.

Don't know why I was reading a Chrisian apology book in the first place, but can't say I took much from this book. Some topics of discussion are thought provoking, but nothing more.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I liked it. I liked this book a lot. I loved the premise of the story, the idea of chocolate mafioso, Annie, Win, Scarlet, Natty, Leo... Hell, I even liked Yuji Ono. It might be a YA (not sure of that), but it's a very very good one. Or maybe I just haven't read a light but packed novel in a while. Either way, great story, definitely would pick up a second book if I could.

This novels is definitely the original 1984. It was written byYevgeny Zamyatin, a Russian writer, 25 years before 1984 came out.

A very thrilling and short read. Although I liked 1984 better.
