The Beach
Carson held onto Sky as she drove them down the empty streets and finally reached a beach. He let himself marvel at the crashing waves and drift off for a while.
Sky got off her bike and led him down to the waves, where she sat, watching the forever going ocean blue.
Carson stood for a while longer, looking out at the rolling waves silently, emptying his mind. Then he lowered himself down to sit next to Sky.
"I love this place, reminds me of home." She said, breathing in the salty air.
"Its beautiful." he breathed, not knowing what else to think.
"And deadly, just like us." She smiles.
A grin tugged at the corner of his lips and he leaned back on his arms against the sand. "Thank you." he said simply.
"No need to thank me." She sighed as a soft breeze brushed past.
"I know its not easy for you.." he murmured softly, "You like to keep to yourself and here I am barging in." he gave a wry and bitter chuckle.
She turned and looked at him not saying anything.
He met her gaze steadily and unblinking.
"Your not barging in, your just making me realise that perhaps I do have a second chance at life, as little as it is." She said softly
"And what's that?" he asked, wanting her to reinforce that realisation.
She didn't, instead said something else. "When you kissed me Carson, it was like I woke up, and felt alive again." She whispered. "But when I thought about it, it felt like I was betraying my promises and I got angry, so angry that I had let myself feel something other than anger or pain."
"Why? Why is so important to you to feel nothing else but those two emotions? Why do you trap yourself like that?" he whispered, holding her gaze.
"It's my punishment, Carson, my own punishment for killing my family. I torture myself with the memories of them, letting their horrified faces fill my mind and re-shatter my heart again and again." A single tear slid down her face.
He remained silent for a while and turned his head to look out at the sea. He stood up after a moment and held his hand out to her without saying anything, looking down into her blue eyes, no judgement on his face.
Shee took his hand, fixing her gaze on the waves instead of his eyes.
He lightly brushed his hand against her cheek and moved her face so that she faced at him instead, "Look at me, Sky." he slowly walked backwards, towards the water.
She reluctantly moved her gaze to his, watching him as he backed up.
"Don't think. Just do." he murmured back the words she'd said to him hours ago. He brushed her face lightly once more as they reached the water's edge, the waves rushing forward to wash up against their feet, but he didn't stop.
Sky followed him, not stopping as the gentle touch of the waves brushed her feet. She just looked up into his eyes as he led her further into the water.
As they got deeper and deeper in, until the water reached their waists, he finally stopped. Reaching out his other hand, he touched the side of her head, right by her eyes, "Did anyone ever tell you you have beautiful eyes?" his mouth quirked up in a smile.
"No.." She murmered, not minding that she was getting wet at that moment.
"Well, now you've heard it." he smiled knowingly. "Come under." he suddenly said and ducked his head down under the rolling waters, submerging his body fully underwater. His hand still holding hers tugged for her to join him.
She took a breath reflexsivly and ducked under the surface, blinking a few times as it became clear under the water.
He grinned as she joined him and turned around to start kicking towards deeper waters, tugging her along.
She smiled, following him as he pulled her further and deeper under the blue ocean.
They swam out farther and deeper down, where the ocean life started and Carson paused to admire the scenery, turning around to grin at Sky, reaching out slowly to touch her smile and gave a nod.
She gave a silent laugh, her eyes flickering around as she took in the beautiful surroundings. Swimming forward she brushed her hand against some coral.((and a shark comes up and eats her! :O))
((BRUCIE!! xD))He watched her with a small smile on his face before turning around in a circle to take in his surroundings, enjoying the utter peace they were in. For once, he felt calm.
((hahahha :P))She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling the waters currents flow over her. She sighed internally.
((lol take up the oportunity hahaha kidding...or am i? O_o))
((the opportunity to what? kiss her again? xD))He swam up to her and kicked around so he faced her, taking the chance to study her at this close range.
((hahaha :P))SHe opened her eyes and was surprised to see Carson there. She grinned and closed her eyes again, enjoying just drifting in the waves.
((u want him to try? or will he just get another black eye again? xD))He chuckled and without thinking, reached out to touch her cheek with a feather-light contact.
((lol how bout they return to the surface and he tell her hes going to kiss her but she doesn't say anything and kisses her and she sort of reacts then feels guilty but doesnt punch him? lol))She leaned into his touch, opening her eyes again to look into his.
((okies! xD))Carson's eyes darted down to her mouth once before they flickered back to her eyes. He leaned in further but he suddenly realised what he was doing and jerked back, blinking. He looked away and lightly shook his head before kicking backwards and started swimming off.
She followed him, wondering why he acted like that, but shrugged it off. They broke the surface and swam to the beach.
He got to the beach, walking out of the water, drenched all over, his hair sticking to his face and he raked his hand through the damp thing, shaking off the water. That had been too close...
She wrung the water from her hair as she asked. "Is something wrong?" Sky moved infront of him, wondering why he was upset.
He startled and jerked to a stop so he wouldn't run into her, "Wrong? Nothing's wrong. Why do you say something's wrong?" he babbled on, trying to distract himself and keep himself from looking anywhere but at her.((gtg Ange D: one last post after urs, but i'll disappear for a while in between! >.<))
((are you going all night?))She narrowed her eyes and pressed both of her hands onto his chest. "Carson, tell me right now."
((last post! nitey Ange! >.<))Carson put a hand over hers, trapping her in and finally looked her in the eye, "What do you feel? Right now. What do you feel when you touch me?" he asked softly, eyes serious.
((awwww bye!))She bit her lip. "Warmth, kindness, protection and friendship." She whispered.
"Friendship..." he whispered and closed his eyes almost painfully. Don't do this. Don't do this. Don't do--"Let me kiss you." he blurted out, but didn't move or open his eyes.
Her eyes widened aand they flickered to his lips for a moment, before looking back up at him. Why not? It's not like anything will come from it... at least I hope not..I'll just be proving a point that he couldn't possibly like me...Yeah I'll keep telling meyself that. "A-Alright." She whispered.
((HEY ANGIE!!! XD))He snapped his eyes open, surprised she'd decided to agree with it and half-expecting the punch line sometime soon. But as he stared into her eyes he could tell she was dead serious. Unsure, but serious. Slowly, he leaned in, giving her time to move away if she changed her mind. He kept her hand trapped against his chest and slipped his other one up to brush against her cheek.
((YAY! MICHY!))Sky tilted her head up, staring into his eyes as their faces came closer together. Slowly, she closed her eyes. It's just a kiss, nothing to worry about. Before she could think of anything else, a soft pressure was on her lips.
Carson pressed his lips lightly against Sky's, and his hand moved to cup her cheek. He closed the short distance between them and his hand on hers over his chest gave a light squeeze.((iz daylight savings :X))
