A lot of people have been debating on which series is better. What do you think? Mortal Instruments or Clockwork Angel? Present or past? Now or then? Meek or Sleak? Jace, Will or Jem? Clary or Tessa? Jace and Clary as a couple, Tessa and Will as a couple or Tessa and Jem as a couple? State it ALL here!

Tess The Mortal Instruments. just because it was the first book i read and it made me fall in love with reading :)
Past. (i would love to live in that time for a little bit)
Then. (same reason) ^ and it's really interesting to read about a time in the past that is completely different from now (the clothing and such)
(hmm not sure what you mean, are the books Meek or Sleak?) Sleak?
I can't choose!!!! i love them all but probably Will. (i still love you Jace and Jem!)
Tessa. (not just cause we have similar names) I just think she's not as whiny/clingy as Clary? but i still love Clary as well :/
Jace and Clary / Tessa and Will (but i still love you Jem!!!)

I didn't particularly like CA in any way because it was just an older version of MI. Will was Jace and so on. What i meant by meek or sleak was that tessa is slightly meek whereas clary is sleek!

oh yeah i get what you mean by an older version of
TMI but i still love the victorian era feel to it :) and i love Will i think it may be the fact that i love Black hair/ Blue eyes on guys but i still love Jem/Jace just as much!

prettyy?! it's sexy! a slight lock of hair falling into his deep blue eyes as he stares at her with such meaning, such depth, that a shiver runs down her spine, as though those sea-blue eyes have washed her ashore on a cold dark night...

The Reading Devil (thereadingdevil) Mortal Instruments... I just found City of Bones a more exciting opening to a series than Clockwork Angel..

message 20: by Tess (new)

Tess i agree it is more action packed! ^.^

totally. i think clockwork angel is just a copy, and if someone else had written it id have them sued 4 plagarism of Cassandra Clare's work, its a total copy only a historical one...

message 22: by Tess (new)

Tess you have to admit it was fun finding connections like Church the cat! :D

message 23: by WinterRose (last edited Oct 11, 2011 12:49PM) (new)

WinterRose | 2 comments I like them both; it's hard to choose! I actually think both series are quite a bit different. Will and Jace have similarities, yes, but so do half the other characters. Jace didn't seem as damaged as Will; Jace actually felt loved by another family. Not sure if Will considers Charlotte and Henry parental figures like Jace does with the Lightwoods. Also, I think Will is crueler than Jace, probably because his past is darker.

Now personally, I prefer Tessa to Clary. Tessa seemed smarter; Clary more impulsive. I was just more impressed with Tessa in general. Clary bugged the crap out of me, haha. I didn't realize how much she did until I re-read the series. She just never listens to anyone. While that trait can be commendible, it can get you killed if you don't have Jace swooping in to save you. Her not listening got old really fast.

I also think the CA plotline is better, or the story is written better. I don't know which one. Maybe it's because Cassandra Clare had more experience under her belt when she wrote it. Don't get me wrong, I love MI, but I love ID too. =)

message 24: by Tess (new)

Tess I COMPLETELY agree Rose! I didn't realize how annoying Clary was until i re-read it! I still like her she's just really whiny and dependent on Jace

message 25: by Lily (new)

Lily | 1 comments I fell in love with the Mortal Instruments a while ago and I was able to read every book so far in the series. It's hard to pick a favourite because I only read Clockwork Angel and haven't read the next in the series. But I don't think the Infernal Devices could outdue MI... MI is just too awesome.

But I agree with Rose. I'm in favor of Tessa more than Clary.

I'm not sure no, I'm really confused, and I don't wanna ruin my love for clary...:/
