As for the creative side - I write horror. If interested I've got a few things on Kindle - two shorts, House Guest and Weeping Mary and a novella, Monkey Love. Bottom line - I'm a nice guy who writes bad things and I like good coffee and beer.

Having spent a lifetime operating and repairing boats my literary interests naturally fall towards the nautical. When I moved to Panama I was lucky enough to land a house-sitting gig high in the mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The owners of the house asked me what I planned on doing in the six months I'd be living there. I said "I'm going to write a book."
And I did --- http://www.amazon.com/Despair-ebook/d...
It's a fictionalized account of Columbus's tragic fourth voyage to the New World, and a lot of it took place right here in Panama. I don't know how often this has happened to other Kindle "Indie" authors, but my book is being translated into Spanish by a couple of girls at a local university who are working on their Master's Degree in English.
I also edited and extensively rewrote Henry Collingswood's "A Pirate of the Caribees"
http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...
I have two blogs. "One More Good Adventure" is about whatever happens to come to mind and a great deal of it is about retiring abroad and growing old in someone else's country: http://oldsalt1942.wordpress.com/
And the other blog is about shantyboats and minimalist cruising: http://houseboatshantyboatbuilders.wo...

I teach special education English in Brooklyn and I'm a loyal member of United Federation of Teachers. I'm also a poet and self-taught percussionist.
I try to help out other writers whenever I can, with shop talk or review trading -- although my time is severely limited because I work a lot of jobs.
I'm originally from Florida. My wife Julie works in Manhattan. My parents are musicians in North Carolina.

Besides promoting my writing, I also have a series of indie writer interviews which is growing regularly.

Novel:

I'm an editor and publisher from Melbourne, Australia, and at present I write literary fiction with a focus on sex and relationships. I'm also interested in fantasy and SF, which made up the bulk of my reading when I was a child, and may write in those genres in the future. My biggest influences are Le Guin, Kenzaburo Oe, and Milan Kundera.
My first novel is called No More Dreams, which I am serializing in ebook format. The first volume, Kiss Me, Genius Boy is out now on Kindle: http://j.mp/q1dUzv

Happy reading everyone! :)

I’ve worked in a seaside arcade, as a record salesman, a decorator, a merchant banker, a marine and a retailer. I was once shot by terrorists and winched from the jungle into a helicopter and flown to hospital. I live with my wife in Bucks, UK.
I've written seven books, six of them published as paperbacks, and are in the process of converting them all into ebooks. Two are up online.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

I used to love the International Herald Tribune when I lived in Italy and Japan! That was in the 1970s. Must go look at your books!

Thanks! I'll check out yours, too. I was in Europe from 78 to 86, at the IHT from 83 to 86 ... good times! I've read your posts: I went to the Uffizi when it was crowded, would've loved to have the place to myself! (There were a few rainy days in Paris when I had some of the galleries of the Louvre to myself, pretty trippy.) I've got an Italian travel story here: http://www.taintmagazine.com/index.ph...

This epublishing experience is a trip indeed.

Great to hear about these Italy connections. My thriller Take No More draws on frequent visits to Florence. I love the atmosphere there.

Been lurking about forever...finally thought I'd say hello.
I'm a transplanted New Yorker, now with my back up against the Pacific. I've been a screenwriter/playwright for many years, just started down the prose path with my first novel, Where The Sun Don't Shine, a Venice beach noir.

Ahh, another Harlequin alumnus. I used to handle publicity for Harlequin while I worked at a major agency in New York. Back in the big growth years of the early '80s.

I also have some collections of short stories: For King and Country, The Big School, Nuggets and Mr Toad's Wedding.
I am working on a novel set in nineteenth century England and Australia and revising a book on Jerusalem in the twelfth century.
My work has been broadcast on radio. I won first prize in the Kenneth Grahame Society competition to write a story based on 'The Wind in the Willows.' You can get the collection, 'The Wind in the Willows Short Stories' from Amazon.

Hello readers and writers!
I fall into both of those categories.
I've been on GR for a while now, and really enjoy all the interaction. This group looks like it will give a lot of that. [fist pump] Yea!
As a reader, I really like mysteries. I also read some Science Fiction, and "literary" books. Non-fiction also gets my attention, especially if it's science oriented.
I review a lot of what I read. The reviews are on my blog Mental Geysers and that feeds to my GR blog.
As an author, I have several titles, with a new one, DEAD HEROES, coming out for e-readers next week. (print edition in January) It's science fiction. I also have historical fiction titles.
My Web site, another blog, and I'm on Facebook and Google+
I look forward to interesting communications.

Welcome. Good to hear about your interesting work. I hear that women's SF is very current. So best wishes for success with 'Dead Heroes'.

So, let's do that.
Post here details about yourself together with concise contact information. It is essential to be concise, otherwise this listing will not function as the directory that it's intended to be. There's plenty of opportunities elsewhere in the Group posts to expand on things, so please keep everything as brief as possible here.
If you're a writer, include brief details of your book titles and the key links, together with a short (no more than 20 word) description of each book.
If you're a reviewer or reader, post brief details of your interests with links.
Best wishes
Seb
