I've got the Goodreads app on my Android, which comes with the book scanner as part of it. I love the scanner, use it all the time. When I'm out and about, in the shops or at a friend's, and see a book I want, I just scan the barcode with my mobile, and it automatically adds the book to my "contemplating" shelf. Then when I get home, I look up the price for the ebook (I read ebooks almost exclusively) and either buy it, adding it to my 'to-read" shelf or just add it to my wishlist, which is my "to-get" shelf.
CaroB, I have used the scanner when I've been in been in Barnes & Noble before, or the library. My problem with the scanner is that I have to delete the book I've scanned before I can scan another one. It doesn't add it to my shelf and then disappear like my weight watchers scanner does.
Hmm, I don't have that problem Susan. The android app has a "Scan many books" option, otherwise I usually just click on menu and go back to the GR homescreen to start over, that way you may not have to delete?I've just joined up to WW! Summer's on its way here and I've put on some kilos this year. I didn't know they had an app though, will have to check out if it's available on the international market.
it's come through Lisa! cards as in a game of cards or as in scrapbooking craft? I'm having visions of you as a card-shark :-)

Let me know what you think about the app. I'm due for a new cell phone in November, and plan on getting one that isn't so "basic" this time.

I mean making home-made cards, similar to scrapbooking. I'm home now. Besides, it was basically a colored-pencil/shading class. Who knew I didn't know how to color?

I feel like such a slacker when I give them my store-bought ones and they comes back with mini-works of art. It's amazing how creative ppl can be! Not me, but... you know... other people.

Great little phone!

The book scanner app uses the camera function to scan the bar code of the book. Then it hyperlinks to the book's homepage where you can check out reviews.
