So it's the new fall season and there are a couple shows I'm seriously hooked on.

The first is Community, which I just adore. Troy is hysterical and so is Abed. If you haven't seen the show, go watch a couple episodes and come back quick and talk about it with me!

Then there's The Office, which I've been watching forever. The show is pretty much infallible. Everything they do is great! I was sad to see Steve Carrell go though. Maybe one day he'll come back!

Lots of great shows out there though. Which are you watching?

I keep hearing people talk about Dexter, but I have no idea what it's about!

The first two books are great, but I'm not crazy about the rest of them. The show is fabulous, tho - just enough 'sick and twisted' to keep the anticipation up, but not enough to gross us out completely.

IUHoosier | 8 comments I'm an HBO addict - I love True Blood, Game of Thrones, and Boardwalk Empire. I'm still missing Deadwood, Sex in the City, the Sopranos, and Rome - they cancel or finish things way too early!

Otherwise it's HGTV, Survivor and the Amazing Race, with the occasional Doctor Who episode if I can find it.

Ann (annrumsey) | 31 comments @IUHoosier - I miss Deadwood too, love Boardwalk Empire and True Blood, and am eager to get season two of Game of Thrones!

stormhawk | 77 comments I recently discovered The Big Bang Theory. These are my people. I have had entirely too many of those exact conversations and situations.

That's another one that people keep telling me about but I never get around to watching! I should designate a 'new TV shows only' day and check them all out.

Ann (annrumsey) | 31 comments Jennifer and Stormhawk - The Big Bang Theory is a hilarious show!

Shari*LoveMiKindle* Did anyone catch American Horror Story on FX last night? That is one bizarre show, but like a train wreck, I just kept watching. LOL

message 12: by Clare K. R. (new)

Clare K. R. (clare-dragonfly) I watched most of that. Actually, I saw maybe 20-30 minutes of the beginning and then 5 minutes at the end (left in the middle to walk my dog) and loved that. Then they reran it and I half-paid attention to the middle and that was awful. They mostly skipped the horror for sex. I'm going to watch next week, but rest assured I will be rooting for the house!

Shari*LoveMiKindle* Yes, I think I want it to be scarier than it was in that first episode.

Love that one, too. I adored the quips about D&D in last week's episode, and I always enjoy Mayim Bialik as Amy - does anybody else remember her from Blossom?

message 15: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) | 55 comments I love The Big Bang Theory. I love all the characters and I remember Mayim Bialik as Blossom. I also love to watch True Blood but had to give up HBO this year. I did find a website that I was able to see the show the next day.

I will have to check out this hulu.com

Karen M Love Big Bang Theory too but most of my favorites are scifi. Fringe & Sanctuary and two new ones look interesting, Grimm & Once Upon A Time.

Missed Once Upon A Time but it's available on the ABC website and should probably also be on Cablevision IO On Demand so I'm not worried.

Angela (question_real_or_fake) I been watching Once Upon a time and i'm liking it. I also started Grimm. I like it so far, another way to take the grimm stories.

message 21: by Karen M (last edited Nov 08, 2011 12:20PM) (new)

Karen M Grimm is definitely worth watching but haven't made up my mind about Once Upon A Time yet. Also this may be the last season for Fringe (tearing up).

Angela (question_real_or_fake) I tried Secret Circle a little to YA for me but nothing much else that i like on thursday.

Maja (maja_montero) | 4 comments Besides books, I love movies and TV. I do watch plenty of shows, but there are only a few that I wouldn't miss for the world.
Dexter is def one of them! I love love LOVE that show! Survivor...
Fringe...
I just finished Downton Abbey season 2.
And out of comedies I love - Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother and Community...
Others I DVR only to have something in the background while I either read or do something different.
Out of the new ones nothing really caught my attention, except Revenge.
I did see Grimm and Once Upon a Time, but wasn't blown away... Will give it time.

And then of course I love True Blood, Game of Thrones, which are not out now, but I do love them.

Modern Family and Game of Thrones are great shows, Maja!

Monica (nutz4reading) | 55 comments I love True Blood. I am enjoying Grimm and Once Upon a Time. Dexter is one show I do enjoy I just don't have any of the movie channels to save money.

message 26: by Karen M (new)

Karen M I really like Grimm but Once Upon a Time (sigh) I want to like it but I don't know, it seems to take from too many fairy tales and rewrites them and this bothers me.

I will have to agree. I really wanted to like it, but it just seems a bit... dull, i guess... Like it is trying too hard.

Yeah, you're able to do that with Ultraviolet movies in a limited way. You're able to stream them, plus you can have a few digital copies on devices. There are some details here on that: http://fireapps.blogspot.com/2011/11/...

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 40 comments You can probably put Amazon Instant Video titles on the Fire. I don't have mine yet but I don't see why not. I may have bought a few episodes of Heroes a while back I think. I will have to try that out. :) It would be great on a plane!

message 31: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 77 comments You can "buy" some movies, but the prime membership deal is only good for streaming. Wish they would do for movies what they do for books in the lending library ...

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 40 comments I have been watching Degrassi. I got to go back and watch Junior High and High from the 80s and 90s through Prime and now I have gone back to Next Generation and watched season 8 and 9 with Amazon Instant Video. I like that with the Instant videos I can download them and take them with me places like to the doctors office when I go with my mom to her appointments.
