This is the best dog book I have ever read. I loved it! I have suggested it to many people. If you like animals this is a book you should read. 5 stars!

My dog—though he doesn't know it—even loved this book as it has led me to empower him to live life a bit more freely and though we don't have a doggy door that he comes and goes, he takes opportunity when it comes to do a little exploring (often, sigh, when I ask him not to, but sometimes, I suppose, even those rules are meant to be broken). Excellent book.

I have read this book twice so far. for the most really like this book. Merle sounds like a terrific dog. only problem is it seems dangerous to let him roam the way he does. Merle just got lucky he didn't have anything too bad happen to him.

Best dog book I have read. But it made mecry too much!

I also loved this book, I think Merle is an exceptional dog and living on his own at a young age enabled him to be a free thinking dog. I'm interested in reading "Pukka: The Pup After Merle" to see how Merle's legacy lives on.
