The American Civil War discussion

Has anyone read any (preferably fiction) books about her? It seems like she would be a fascinating figure but you never hear about her...

This may not be what you are looking for - a scholarly piece - but I recently added to my Amazon wishlist - First Lady of the Confederacy: Varina Davis's Civil War by Joan E. Cashin. But since it is on a wishlist, I also haven't read it.

Other than that, my only exposure to her is Mary Chestnut's observations about her in her Diary. Mary Chesnut: A Diary From Dixie.

I'll check out the first one. I've got Mary Chesnut, of course. Thanks for the recommendation!
