October 2011 Purchases
From Amazon:
Monsters: An Investigator's Guide to Magical Beings
Columbine
Skippy Dies
Huh. Listed in that order, it looks like a tasteless free-form poem.
I also have books coming from bookswap -- apparently the last I'll be getting (insert sad face here) -- which I'll post as they arrive.

I went to an annual book market in the neighboring village of Asperen. The search is sometimes long and hard but almost always successful in finding gems in English among the thousands of Dutch books. Here are our finds.....
and Dickens A Life by Norman and Jeanne MacKenzie Oxford University Press 1979
Went to the Friendly Bookstore (friends of the library) today and picked up some used books. Hit pay dirt. 16 books (14 hardcover, 2 paperback) for $25.50

It sounds that way. I'm excited to read it, and the Hastings in Pittsburg has books 2-3 really cheap.
Took my barnes & noble gift card to the store this weekend. And now apparently I need a new way to swap my excess books, so I guess I'll be looking for that now with 5 new books on my already over burdened shelf lol.

I actually want to get the 2nd book in the series (or sorta series..not sure what you'd call it).
Uhm...I don't believe I've actually purchased any books this month :o
Well I went a little buying crazy. In my defense, all of the books I bought seem to have to be included in any good military history personal library. At least that's what I'm telling myself to justify it lol. I got two off of the Goodreads Bookswap, and the rest off of Amazon's used sellers for a total of $42 (about $5.25 each so not bad).
Now if only I could read as fast as I buy...
The author was nice enough to send me an advanced digital copy of her book Lily in the Snow and Other Elemental Tales. Technically not a purchase, but it is a contribution to my growing pile of to be read books.
I AM NOW OFFICIALLY ON A BOOK-BUYING BAN FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR!!!!!! *excluding books bought as presents for others. I went a little crazy just now so this is my much-deserved punishment. But here's what I got
All of them I got for cheap, except for Warrior Police. I bit the bullet on that one because I actually have a good reason to not wait around for it to become cheap. I was really drawn to the 4 Burgett books because they have some amazing reviews and I wanted some short, quick reads. By the way, I got Thunder Run for a whopping $3.17 :)
Now my ban for the rest of the year has commenced. If it's not in my personal library already, then that's just too bad. Amazon and I are going on a break. I need to figure out how to put "parental controls" on the Amazon website so I can't go to it at all lol
I got
and
for my Kindle and I ordered
in paperback. Time to go on a Book Buying Ban until next year! But I know my hubby will buy me books for my birthday next month, and possibly for Christmas too.Oh yeah and I won't even add the ten freebies I added for my Kindle as well! =/
