Anne (reachannereach) Toni,
you can cut and paste this whole batch at the end of the first batch above.

message 3: by Anne (new)

Anne (reachannereach) You should have the option to edit along with reply and delete. It's at the bottom right of your list, in small print. Click on that. Your list will shrivel up. You can make it larger again.

message 4: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie Toni, you list is looking great!!!!!! I will spend some time browsing later. Osar has to go out first.

message 5: by Anne (new)

Anne (reachannereach) Toni wrote: "Yea! Thank you so much Anne - with all your help I'll get this figured out yet!! :o)"

Are you still having trouble getting your list onto one page? We can delete a couple messages that cut your list in two. I think I could fix your list. Do you want me to try? Or do you want to work at it yourself?

message 6: by Anne (new)

Anne (reachannereach) I cannot cut and paste for her as far as I can tell. The option isn't there. Only delete. If you know how to do it and she gives the okay, please do it.

Lynne | 14 comments I think you'll really like The Dressmaker of Khair Khana: Five Sisters, One Remarkable Family, and the Woman Who Risked Everything to Keep Them Safe. I'll pass Twenty Chickens for a Saddle on via Sarah. Laura and I both read it so I'm curious what you will think.

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 1309 comments I have your A through E on the master list, so I'll check back for more!

message 12: by Chrissie (last edited Oct 08, 2011 11:18PM) (new)

Chrissie I am going through you list slowly. You have Ali and Nino: A Love Story. You lucky person, that is ahead of yoiu. My review which explains why I loved it; http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
After finishing this you will probably want to read The Orientalist: Solving the Mystery of a Strange and Dangerous Life about the author. What a guy!

You have the "Hungry Tide" and the Bielski Brothers" both are good. You are going to have an exceptional reading year. Both of the two you have for Bosnia are excellent. So you can read one right away........ I have reviews on both if you don't now wich to read first.

I am a little worried about The Lost Wife. I have that on my list too. I enjoyed this author's Swedish Tango: A Novel, but found The Last Van Gogh poor. Shomeret said The Mask Carver's Son, by this author, was good. I might read that first this year. I am going to go look in my books, I have an excellent book for Czech Republic. ( I will be right back....) Here it is: Under a Cruel Star: A Life in Prague 1941-1968. Excellent book. The author recently died. My review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/... This is a must read!

message 13: by Toni (new)

Toni | 13 comments Hm-m-m-m, good feedback - thank you. I have doubts about The Lost Wife also, so I think I will substitute Under a Cruel Star: A Life in Prague 1941-1968. Am also adding Swedish Tango: A Novel. You are probably correct in that I will be curious about Ali and Nino: A Love Story and will want to read about the author.

message 14: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie In my opinion Swedish Tango could be placed either under Chile or Sweden. Actually it is what happened in Chile that lies behind the story, so that is the best. Here is my review of that:http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/... When the protagonist fell in love in a monastery in Chile is something I will never forget. What happened was beautiful. This got four stars.

Ali and Nino got five_ http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/... You cannot go wrong with this book! It is short and sweet. Not everyone will enjoy thThe Orientalist: Solving the Mystery of a Strange and Dangerous Life and my review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/... This book is detailed, but what a life! The author was born in Azebadjan, changed religion and went to Germany as a Muslim and died in........ What happened to this guy is more strange than any fiction novel. I gave it four stars. It is a pain that you can no longer "see review" here on GR. I have to resave the dam thing.

Toni | 13 comments Thank you Judy - you have been so helpful to me.

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 1309 comments Hi Toni, I added the rest of your list to the master list... all the American titles are under United States. I see Haunted Ground on your list, and while I don't typically read mystery, I really loved the two by that author set in the bogs.

message 17: by Toni (new)

Toni | 13 comments Thanks Jenny - you have done an amazing job on the Master List. I think we all appreciate your efforts :o)

message 18: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 14 comments Oh, I didn't even think of Spain.

message 19: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 130 comments I hope you like Kaffir Boy: The True Story of a Black Youth's Coming of Age in Apartheid South Africa That's been my favourite memoir since I read it when I was 13. It's very eye-opening.

message 20: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 49 comments Fantastic list Toni! I've read some of your books - The Nazi Officer's Wife: How One Jewish Woman Survived the Holocaust, The Tenth Gift, 22 Britannia Road and The Observations - I recommend them all, but especially The Nazi Officer's Wife and The Observations - I loved both of them!

I'm also going to read The Cellist of Sarajevo and I Have Lived A Thousand Years: Growing Up In The Holocaust

message 21: by Shomeret (new)

Shomeret | 520 comments I'm reading The Cellist of Sarajevoas well. It came in at the library, so I'll be picking it up next week.
