message 8: by William (new)

William (williemeikle) And I'm here on Goodreads too if anyone wants to ask me anything :-)

Latest news is I have a multi-book deal lined up with Dark Regions Press. The above mentioned Sherlock Holmes book, REVENANT is next in line and should be out by Xmas.

David Elkin | 124 comments Great to hear from you. I just finished your short story called the Crown of Thrones. Good stuff, thanks. Looking forward to Holmes book.

Question-Do you prefer Ebook or printed format. I know printed costs more for the consumer.

message 10: by David (new)

David Elkin | 124 comments I just finished "LARKHILL BARROW"-BRAVO!

Meikle, William (2010-10-03). Carnacki: Heaven and Hell (Kindle Location 965). Generation Next Publications. Kindle Edition.

I prefer anything that gets my stories to readers :-)

ebooks have been very good for me in that regard, giving me a whole new, and quite large, audience. But I must admit, getting the hardcover of THE CREEPING KELP in my hands recently gave me a huge thrill.

Hi William. I'm glad you popped you head in on your thread! I have a stack of your stories to read. I hope I get to read them soon!

Glad you enjoyed it. I love writing the Carnacki stories - I plan to do a bunch more of them. The stories in the Kindle edition, plus a new story and a new 30,000 word Carnacki novella, will be out soon in hardback and paperback editions from Dark Regions Press.

message 14: by David (new)

David Elkin | 124 comments Very cool! You do a remarkable job on the stories. The original Carnacki is free. (Thomas Carnacki is a fictional supernatural detective created by English fantasy writer William Hope Hodgson) -

I may have to break down and buy the Kelp book, but I want to read Sherlock first.

message 15: by William (new)

William (williemeikle) You may have a chance to win a free copy of the Holmes one. See here.

Two new books coming — and a Facebook/Twitter contest to win them.

message 16: by David (new)

David Elkin | 124 comments Actually caught the contest in your Lovecraft newsletter. I have already entered and thanks.

Another question-which character (challenger, Holmes, Carnacki, etc.) is the hardest to write?

message 17: by William (new)

William (williemeikle) Holmes I think, because the "voice" is so distinctive, and you have to give him the intellectual rigor to match the character. There's more leeway with the others because they're less well known in the public consciousness.

David Elkin | 124 comments A nice write up for one of William's book.
