Kishor (imaginaryturtle) I've made a case favoring the book over the computer over here:

http://bookstove.com/book-talk/the-co...

I figured this was probably the best group to consult seeing as how we're all ebook fans. What makes you prefer ebooks over actual books, if at all? I'd like to know. Any tips regarding improvement of my writing are also welcome. Please read!

Vivian (bookdivasreads) Interesting question...my primary reason for favoring ebooks (on an ereader not a phone app or on the computer) over standard books (paperback and hardcover) is the ability to carry a large selection of books with me at any time. I can read 2-3 different titles and have them all with me while out-and-about running errands, waiting in physician offices, etc. Having said that, I continue to purchase books for my home library, but these purchases are usually limited to non-fiction reads.

Jackie (wilssearch) What Vivian said plus I have run out of room for print books, so I will be culling my fiction library to get rid of books that can be replaced by e-books - in order to find room for all the history books that I no longer have self room for.

Anindyta (dytaudie) yes agree! I think ebook is more efficient than actual books. It doesn't require much space, doesn't require a shelf, and it could last forever... (as long as the file's not deleted)

Jeanine (jneen277) | 1 comments I prefer eBook because it makes commuting easier. I don't have to worry about carrying a hard cover book back and forth between work to home. If I happen to be in the middle of my commute and I'm carrying a regular book, I won't have anything else to start unless I carry another with me. With my Reader, I have a lot of books at my fingertips if that happens. I also found I read three times as much in an eBook than I did with a paperback or hardcover.

Beth | 1 comments I agree with all of the above. The e-reader provides huge convenience - not carrying a heavy book around. Plus the fact that if you finish a book when you are out and about you can start another one straight away. I also love the fact that i can carry a huge range of books with me so that i can read what i feel like reading depending on my mood. In the past 2 years since i have had my e-reader i have increased my reading markedly and read books i would never have considered if i had had to pay full price for them or got them from the library (ie e-books are considerably cheaper to purchase so i can get new releases sooner :) )

ibNell All of the above ~ and the ability to make the font BIGGER! I do not have to wear reading glasses. I love that. With the amount of reading I do ~ I had permanent dents in the top of my nose ;-)

Mickey (mickuva) | 3 comments Added to the above, plus I have added my favorite books to my ereader so my "library" of books has now reached over 500. Who can carry that many paper and/or hardback books with them wherever they go? My ereader travels with me when I step outside the door, even if I have to leave it in the car - at least I have it close by it I need to have it for any reason (stuck in traffic anyone?)
My greatest joy is being able to re-read old favorites over again anytime I want...

Sandy Vaughan (spvaughan) | 3 comments i have books on my iPhone, kindle, and computer...so am ready to read or listen to a book any time, any where! (Makes my purse so much lighter!!) i hate packing to move and when you have as many as i had, they get quite heavy. i'm pretty gentle with books so give them to the library (small town), high school, friends, half price books, and good will. how well have i succeeded...i've cut about half...well, you can't do it all in one go! AND my little sister keeps telling me "why do you keep all that crap? at our age we should be reducing stuff!

O, and i do have a dog who wants me to save as many trees as possible!
