I know there are folks out there in this group who have iPhones/iPads/The Facebook, and, by virtue of being book nerds, are also Scrabble lovers. Or Words With Friends players, pick your poison.

Ever feel let down by playing random opponents or even (I won't tell) your friends? Why don't we all just play with each other?

so much of it is luck of the tiles. i used to play just because i liked looking for arcane words but then the strategizers would crow over me, so i had to harden my heart. but there are still times when i don't have it in me to go for the throat -- i could have played two all-seven tile moves in one of my recent games, but i felt badly so i didn't. :)

Warning: I have so many games going that I'm not allowed to start any more. I can accept as many games as I want that are STARTED by someone else WITH me, but I can't start any more games myself. This includes re-matching. It's a dumb rule WWF has. Oh and in case you were wondering the number, it's twenty-two. You can only start twenty-two games before you get blocked from starting any more.

Yes, I know I have a Words With Friends problem. I didn't mean for it to get this out of hand, but almost EVERYONE has an iPhone or iPad now!

I'm simpletwist, guys. Kerry, by 22 games I take it you mean you can't start any more while you have that many going, right? Not, you're capped at creating 22 games period...

You are capped at creating 22 games YOURSELF. Meaning I can only start 22 games with other people, where I send the invite to other people to start the game.

As a player I can ACCEPT unlimited games from people who start them WITH me.

But that means that I have way more than 22 games going at any one time so if a game ends on my move, I am unable to hit "rematch" but have to wait for the person I was playing with to start our next game.

This all sounds very confusing. Sorry.

Hi Jodi! We are all playing Words With Friends, a scrabble-esque app through our iPhones/iPads/iPods. Do you have one of those? If so, you can download the app, glean our usernames here, and start games with us!

you can also play if you have a non-i smart phone device -- i have a google android phone and it's just fine for word with friends. and you can play via facebook too, with people who have mobile devices. to test it, i just started a game with mary. :) (fyi, i already started a game with jodi so that's why i didn't attempt her for the test -- also she is already my facebook friend whereas mary is not. :)

Maureen: my phone doesn't tell me automatically when someone has taken a turn. I don't know why--it used to. Anyway, i tell you that because i don't always remember to check. But i'll go look soon and take my turn!
