It definitely sounds like fun. I've read rumors (I don't know how true) that David Schow and Christa Faust are amongst the writers who will be contributing. Both of whom
I'm definitely going to grab the first few and see how they read. And ... I love that Orbik artwork on the site...

Thanks for the post / link. It does look like something that will be fun if done right. I've not read anything by David Schow, but have read some stuff by Faust and agree she's a good writer. Will keep a look out for it.
If you check out the site now, they have updated to show six covers now with the title mock ups on them. Interesting ... the titles seem to be somewhat Doc Savage inspired while the art is definitely more spicy pulp...
The Gabriel Hunt website was updated again and now looks a lot like the Hard Case one. The first Hunt adventure comes out in a little a month.
I just got a chance to visit the website now. The series looks promising! Of course, at my present rate of reading, and what with all the books I want to read already, I'll probably only get around to these when I'm in my late 90s! But at least Goodreads makes us aware of a lot of books to look forward to. :-)
I'm looking forward to giving these a try. The covers really are gorgeous. Hopefully the writing will be as good.Tim

I've read a number of these now, and it's an excellent series. There's quite a lot of variety in it given that each book is written by a different author but with one exception they are remarkably true to the pulp spirit. I've found them hard to put down, and chew through most of them in 24 to 36 hours of purchase. (Hunt Among the Killers of Men reads much more like a contemporary thriller. It's excellent, but not at all similar to the tone of the other books in the series). My favorite is probably the second in the series, Hunt through the cradle of fear, which features the usual globetrotting, two-fisted justice, and supernatural twist at the end as the others, but which focuses a little on Egyptian mythology. The first in the series is also notable for featuring a gunfight in every chapter, except for the chapter in which there's a whip fight. It's great stuff.
I read one not long ago that was written by Christa Faust. Can't think of the name of it, but Gabriel Hunt goes to Antarctica, Nazis and a lost civilization and a weapon that can destroy whole cities. It was a really fun book, and completely captured the pulp adventure spirit.

I've read the first two and I'm thinking about picking the Faust one up since I enjoyed Money Shot and Hoodtown.
That's sounds like that's it, Frozen Fire. I would like to read Hoodtown. I enjoy Christa Faust's type of characters; got to admire a chick who ain't afraid to get blood on her knuckles...

I have next to no information about it but it's from the same people as the Hard Case Crime series and promises to be a throwback to adventure pulps like Doc Savage and ERB.
