message 1: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) Okay, I have to ask:

Who is NOT doing nanwrimo this year, and might want to be a mod in november?

I need to know, because I am doing nanowrimo, and probably won't be on goodreads. Seeing as this group clearly needs a moderator, and I won't be active, I will need somebody to keep things under control.

message 2: by Court (new)

Court What's nanwrimo???

message 3: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) It's where you write 50,000 words in November. If you like to write and want to do it, you can register at www.nanowrimo.org until Halloween at midnight. that's when the frantic writing begins!

message 4: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ oh yeah. i'm totally staying up til midnight on halloween just to start writing! i am SO PSYCHED!!! XD

message 5: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) I am going to my friends birthday party that day. We have school off (YES!!!!) and her party ends at 11:30. we will be going trick or treating until only about 8:30 though...

I wonder if we could set up a nano thing...

anyhow! who isn't doing nanowrimo that wouldn't mind being a mod?

message 6: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments OOO me!!!!

message 7: by Eric▲ (new)

Eric▲ | 716 comments so all you have to do is write 50,000 words?
or does it have to be a story?

message 8: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin i'm staying up on halloween too!!! yay!! XD

and i'm not going to check goodreads at all during nanowrimo...*wince* i cringe to think of the state of how many new posts there will be in all of my groups when i come back. aaghhh!!!

message 9: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ i might check on goodreads if i'm ahead in my writing schedule. we'll see ...

message 10: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin i dunno...i might once in a while, but probably not. unless i finish my story hecka early and half time to spare...but i doubt thats going to happen. i dont know if ill even get to 50k. XD

message 11: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) Sella, don't worry. Without you, me, brigid, and kenzie, there will be like, half the posts :)

so it won't be THAT bad (I hope).

And Eric, you can get the details here:
http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/faq

It seems that Chandani is the only one that wants to be a mod (so far...)

Hylian Princess (hylianprincess) wait, what is this

message 13: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) I'll be a mod. Maybe in a year I'll be ready.

Hylian Princess (hylianprincess) I'm confused...

Hylian Princess (hylianprincess) I'll pass.

message 16: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) So Chandani, Riley, and Kenna are the ones that have volunteered.

I'm not sure if the group will need 3 mods, so I'll pick one of you (probably by eeni meeni mini mo) when the time comes. And then if you want you can appoint other mods to help you.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

omg u ppl r crazy. i could never write 50,000 words in one month.

message 18: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) I'm a good person Roni. I follow the rules. Most of the time. You know?

message 19: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) lol.

message 20: by Alex (new)

Alex (bigalreno) | 86 comments To much schoo stuff high school is hard when you are taking all honors. I did not choose my test score i tried my best. with my test scores they will not let me take regular classes WTF. I got the second highest score in the school on the science profeciency. i missed one question. Just so you know the school i attend is 2500 kids big. one would think i would be proud i am but it makes my life hell i ame expected to do more than a normal human should. sorry it will not work

message 21: by Alex (new)

Alex (bigalreno) | 86 comments EVERY one lOOK AT THIS POST READ IT WELL, LEARN

Nerd boat sucks. i am getting ok grades but it is hard for me to keep up. I do so well on the tests because no timing, or memorization. Trig sucks, you have to remember comeon trig values. a lot. r u n high school? if not i will tell you that you need the support of friends to make it through. you do not need the support of family if you have enough friends. i am proof of that. my parents are always trying to shoot me down. like when you get the chance to do an extra class over the summer, and have your own money, they will not let you. I am grounded 80 percent of the year, and it really sucks. at least i have the friends i have. most of them are also in the nerd boat too. but the other ones are not. i have no friends in between stupid or smart. i have stupid ones so i can watch them and laugh, which i do not do at home.

you should see my friend muricio we all call him ferbie. he is into jumping of buildings and stuff like that. i will get you guys a link

message 23: by Alex (new)

Alex (bigalreno) | 86 comments sorry. every body else go watch it it is funny. it is my friend missing a jump and eating it, and him lighting his hand on fire

message 24: by Alex (new)

Alex (bigalreno) | 86 comments ya. we almost blew up a can of hairspray and a can of WD-40. we are pyros. that day we set the ends of sticks on fire and played light sabers, we covered the outside of tennis balls with WD-40, and filled the inside with it, we let um burn. hella awesome.

message 25: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) Wow. O.o

But I know how you feel about being "the smart one"

see, there is this test in 8th grade called the explore test, and it is like a pre-pre-act. I got almost a perfect score in all catergories, but I was a point or two off in the subcatergories of the enlish section. but my composite score was 25/25. Sooooo... I guess I'm in the nerd boat too.

But I am not in the geek boat. Geeks are obsessive, nerds just enjoy school and are good at at least 1 subject.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok. Scratch that. I am doing NanoWriMo. I saw that you could set your own goal for the YWP, so yeah. I crossed over to the dark side. I like cookies...:P

message 27: by Alex (new)

Alex (bigalreno) | 86 comments I like cookies too. I am good at math(:

message 28: by Alex (new)

Alex (bigalreno) | 86 comments being the smart one sucks. enjoy scool are u kidding it sucks, except for electives because you can choose. in reno (ya i am from reno) you can choose to take a high school algebra class. at the end of the semester u take a CBE (credit by exam) and get a high school credit! it is cool because 8th grade was easy i had not taken the middle school tests yet.

message 29: by Alex (new)

Alex (bigalreno) | 86 comments That is awesome. i am to lazy and i need to join the military to pay for college

message 30: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) You know what I hate about being smart? How when you get something wrong everyone's like, "Ohhhhh!!! Riley jus' got somthin' 'ronnnnggggg!"

message 31: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie I hate that too! My sister just used that one on me today! I hate it!!!!

message 32: by Court (new)

Court Yeah, I'd get that alot in Elementary. Then I got into Middle School, and there are all these super-geniuses and now... I don't get that so's mucho.

message 33: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie I got a D- on my first AP Human Geography test, 'cause I didn't really study--never really have, probably never really will, and this guy behind me was like, "I thought you were smart."

message 34: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) lol. Well one time I did a multiplication problem wrong, and everyone else did it right but my teacher decided to call on me (of all people). Then when I got it wrong, everyone gasps. That was not a fun day.

message 35: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie I know. It's like they expect so much out of you just because you're good in a DIFFERENT subject.

message 36: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie Sorry about caps-locking things, I just really hate writing those <(insert writing here)> things.

message 37: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) Oh. I like em.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah, that used to happen in math class last year my friends'd be like "omg ur so smart!" and if i got like a 95 they'd be like "really??". yeah. not so much any more either. i got put in extended math and now i'm like, the stupid one...

message 39: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) I'm going to a school where pretty much everybody is "the smart kid" and is really good at at least one subject. So the difference between me and the others isn't that large.

But of course, there is still the popular crowd. Except they don't have a highly questionable intelligence.

message 40: by Court (new)

Court That's funny. At my old school it seemed that all the pop kids had brains the size of Earth, they just didn't like using it.

message 41: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) Ah. Well, my school makes us use our brains. ;)

And as for the original discussion going on here...
I'm deciding to wean myself off goodreads for the next couple days before nano. So I will be on less and less and when I am I will be at my other group that I started, Writing Passionates.

So, time for eenie meenie mini mo...

Chandani, Kenna, or Riley...

I guess you will find out by who suddenly appears as mod.

message 42: by Kenny (new)

Kenny (kjamesmobile) | 905 comments Hey I would like to be a mod too! I debate a lot, so it'd be cool if I got to be one. I am online every day (most of the time) so I am reliable...

message 43: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments ohh kool!

message 45: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments OH YAY!!

message 47: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments haha yeah.

message 48: by Eric▲ (new)

Eric▲ | 716 comments if anyone says i misspelled " KONGREGULATIIONS! " you are wrong! it's kindof an inside joke to someone that i don't even know if they are here or not, but just saying it to see if anyone recognises it...

message 49: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) Ah. Inside jokes are fun. dub dub dub dot f u ... (don't worry, it's followed by nny!)

message 50: by Chandani (new)

Chandani (milkduds920) | 6408 comments heeheee
