Ah, thanks for drawing my attention to it, Patricia. Here are the 5 Canada Reads selections:
The Game - Ken Dryden
Something Fierce - Carmen Aguirre
On a Cold Road: Tales of Adventure in Canadian Rock - Dave Bidini
Prisoner of Tehran: A Memoir - Marina Nemat
The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival - John Vaillant
The Game - Ken Dryden
Something Fierce - Carmen Aguirre
On a Cold Road: Tales of Adventure in Canadian Rock - Dave Bidini
Prisoner of Tehran: A Memoir - Marina Nemat
The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival - John Vaillant
I've always followed along religiously but I am having trouble adjusting to the idea of it being non-fiction this year, even though I've been reading more non-fiction this year myself. I'll probably still listen to the debates, but I'm not sure I'll read them all this year...
I will start with Tiger, bought it as I have been meaning to read it ever since it came out. Then Something Fierce.. I have been reading about the effects of Pinochet politics on young people. After that? Who kows and if at all.
I am trying to read through the list. I know now that I won't make it in time for the discussion on CBC but I have read 3, Prisioner of Tehran, Something Fierce, and just last night I finished The Tiger. Now I have to read The Game, and On a Cold road, which to be honest are only on my to read list because they are on the Canada Reads list....but I will try to get them read soon and maybe I'll be pleasently surprised.
