Can Anyone Tell Me Why This Book is #1 in Kindle Store?

Maybe b/c its only 99 cents?? I wonder if the #1 rating is based on sales? I have never heard of it either, and it really doesn't look like something I would read, even for 99 cents!
I'm sure it's because it's only 99 cents, and according to some other Kindle related sites that I frequent, it's been very popular.
Yeah, I'm sure the price is part of it, but I was just wondering if anybody had read it, because there are lots of cheap books but I hadn't seen any that were that high. And that book is that author's only book.
Just thought it was curious! :)

I believe the book rankings are based on purchases but also on views of the book's page, so it's pretty self-perpetuating. I'm sure the price has a lot to do with it! Also, this appears to be literary/contemporary fiction, and most of the 99-cent books I've heard of in the past tend to be SFF or thrillers, which are less popular genres (though definitely getting more popular).
Really? I thought literary fiction had way fewer readers than genre fiction. I wonder if there are figures somewhere comparing how popular they are.

Anybody ever heard of it?
