Thanks, Lee, for starting this thread. I didn't feel comfortable starting it since, at least so far, I'm not participating. But it will be fun to read everybody's activities in this thread, while we can still post general blog URLs in the other blog thread.
Yes, I meant to start a separate mofo thread but forgot. We can keep chatting here! Does anyone want to do another group cook featuring some ingredient or theme during the month of October?
Sure! I'd love to do something with nuts. My preference is for pecans but I'll go with whatever the majority wants to do.
LeeThe Carrot Cake Cupcakes and Cream Cheese Frosting recipe from my blog are from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World.
They were really good. We brought a couple with us yesterday and kept them in a cooler since we had a wedding to go to and knew we wouldn't be able to eat the wedding cake. They were a perfect treat to look forward to on the ride home!
Betsy, so far, I think this is everyone who is participating in our group mofo challenge.

Farrah wrote: "How about a Pecan Challenge for Saturday October 29th?"Sounds good, I have some pecans here now so I'll have a go at making something delicious with them before the 29th.
Okay, I'm in for the 29th! It will be a nice way to end off Mofo and it's time enough for me to get some nut supplies.
Who is ready for the pecan challenge this weekend? Want to have all the bloggers so I can link them on my page :)
I have my pecans! Don't know what I'm doing yet (typical!) but I'll be posting something. I will link to everyone participating as well.
I have two recipes I am going to work on. One savory and one sweet. There must have been a pecan shortage or something because they went up in price since I last bought them. We usually buy them at BJs and I would get 11/2 lbs for $9.99 and this time I only got pound for 9.99.
Here's my recipe for the pecan challenge:http://triumphofthelentilblog.wordpre...
I'll link to the other pecan recipes in it once they've been posted on here.
I finally got my food as gifts post done! I made shortbread and am not thrilled with how they came out but it was my first try.

I love hot and sour soup! I might give this a try, especially since there's a cabbage in my fridge.
I might make it tonight. I've had a cold for about 3 weeks that I haven't been able to get rid of so I'm trying to flush it out with some soup!
Thanks Don. The soup's on the stove right now. I added some garlic and ginger for extra zip and healing power! I hope it's tasty. I didn't have any canned tomatoes so I've used fresh.
