Divergence discussion

These are clothed all in black, pierced, have tattoos, and are reckless. They guard the fence surrounding the city. Dauntless children are noisy and rude. They often play games and dares. The Dauntless provide the city with protection. They live in the "Pit". The Pit is an underground cavern that can cater to all of the families within the faction. Inside the uneven stone walls is food, clothing, supplies, and activities. There are many narrow paths, and there are no barriers for saving lives from falling of the edge. They are almost always talking and shouting in expressive gestures. They have a special routine each day. They must arrive at 8 each day for training. Training is from 8 to 6 each day, then they may do whatever they want.

I'd hate to be on of them.

They're not the worst. In fact, they are one of the most important ever.

The Dauntless are brave and strong. They have to be organized and in good physical and mental shape to fight for what's right and to protect the weak...which are those in most of the other factions. The Dauntless have to be outspoken for those who are afraid to speak out, they have to be discerning for those who are unsure of themselves, and they have to be able to cut to the chase and to seek a balance of the truth vs what is necessary for the survival of the world. The Dauntless are....dauntless in the face of danger and destruction. They're warriors in every expression of the word..they're thinkers and doers. Not just thinkers. I'm proud to be Dauntless!!

I definitely would fit in this category instead of the others...plus i love how they fight with weapons and are active and stuff :)

I agree with Calamity Creates~Toujours on the whole original Dauntless beliefs. I would LOVE to join this faction! I love adventures, thrills, and challenges. I'm extremely feisty, energetic, and I have no fears that I am aware of since I never get nightmares and I haven't been afraid to try out new things.

I love the Dauntless something about their strength and feeling as one makes me want to put the book down and applaud or chant when they do. Their unity and strong sense of self easily over powers any negativity any other factions could bring. While some factions could see them as arrogant, Dauntless just knows it's really a sense of unwilling strength, being with Dauntless is like knowing you're a part of a huge awesome family.

I think Dauntless is a really cool faction. The whole fears thing is particularly interesting. Except if I were ever in Dauntless, I would probably fall a pathway and crash then die.

I love how the Dauntless are so reckless and adventurous. I would love to jump in the pit, go hang-gliding, and play capture the flag in the dark. :)

I really admire Tris and see her as an idol. she's strong willed and everything amazing. I want to be just like her in the dauntless. meet her friends, and TOBIASSSSS ♥

I think I might like to join Dauntless but would prefer it to have the original beliefs! :-)

I got Dauntless in the test, and I don't know if I could fit in with them.

I would sooooo be Dauntless! That's just me. I love how brave they are. Even though most people see them as the goths, which they kinda are, they are a major part out of the whole. Without them........ it's just wrong and completely messed up.

To everyone who said they would love to join this faction/feel as though they'd fit in here I agree. I always tried new things when I was little that were like the sort of stuff in this. AKA: joined karate, took fencing, watching an sort of movie with fighting in it, always went on the scariest thin there was at an amusement park.
To everyone who said they didn't like this faction that is your opinion. But I agree with Four/Tobias: who says we can't be kind and truthful and dauntless and helpful and smart while being in one faction.

I admire Dauntless and their ideals, well the original ideals at least. I would love to be foolhardy and bad@ss like Tobias and Tris, throw knives, zip line, everything. But that just isn't me, I prefer to have my nose stuck in a book, plus I'm a coward. I fright at everything. Dauntless initiation would not go well at all for me!

Everything is good in theory and since I don't think this will go anywhere else anytime soon, then Dauntless sounds great. I love the part how fear is important because it stops us from being completely and utterly reckless. You need to have something to stop you from going to far whether its fear or love. I would choose dauntless! Plus, they are so AWESOME!
