fast food. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Layla walked in with Aruen and Chet.

Chet was grinning and chatting happily with Aruen who looked like she couldnt care less but was humouring him regardless.

Layla looked around, wincing at the loud noise. She quickly covered up her discomfort and smiled at Aruen and Chet.

Chet grinned back.
Aruen smiled though she knew Layla was bothered by the noise.
"Lets order and eat quickly."
She suggested.
"What why?" Chet asked.
"You never know who could be the enemy Chet."
Aruen said, picking a plausable excuse without hesitation.
"Its better for our safety to keep under the radar and keep moving."
Chet shrugged, accepting the answer.

Layla looked at Aruen gratefully. "Thank you," she said quietly so Chet couldn't hear. She smiled.

After sitting outside playing by herself for a few minutes, Lyra ran inside to be with her flock, her eyes huge and fearful as usual.

Aruen smiled kindly at Layla before turning to greet Lyra.
"Hey Lyra."
Both she and Chet said in unison, smiling warmly at her.

Lyra flashed a smile at them, her eyes filling up with warmness again.

"So what would you like to eat?"
Aruen said before smirking slightly.
"Chets paying."
"WHAT! Why me!?"
Chet complained, just knowing if he let his sister have her way he would be broke in no time.

Lyra giggled, then said, "Can I have two fish sandwiches?" she put her thumb to her mouth and began to bite on her fingernail.

"Can I have a small strawberry shake?" Layla asked quietly, smiling at them all. She loved her flock.

Lyra walked over to a booth and climbed up onto one side, sitting down with her back against the wall and her knees tucked close to her chest, sucking on her thumb.

Striding through the doors, Emily walked in, her hands in her pockets, hiding her claws. Her white wings were folded in her shirt, and her long rabbit/wolf ears were hiding under her long hair, and her tail was hiding as well, making her look human. Looking at the menu, she looked to the girl at the register and gave a nod. "Big mac with a Mcflurry please" she ordered, handing the girl some money. Leaning against the counter casually, she looked over ot the group of people, her senses telling her they were slightly different from normal people. Shrugging it off, she took her food and sat down at a table, trying to keep her long ears from peeking out of her hair.

Lyra looked at the girl. She didn't know why, but for some reason, she didn't feel comfortable around her. She reached out her mind to the girl's own mind and tried to read it.
Suddenly she whimpered, trying to back away against the wall as much as she could, her eyes huge and scared again.

Aruen nodded.
She already knew what Chet would want so she didnt ask him.
She walked over to the counter.
"Hey, can I have two fish sandwiches, a strawberry milkshake, two double cheese burgers with chips and...two large cokes please?"
The lady at the counter nodded and Aruen handed her the money.
Both she and Chet carried the food back to the booth and sat down next to Lyra.

Emily sighed as she twirled her straw in her Mcflurry. She couldn't help but wonder what her father was doing right now at the School. Growling, she needed revenge. Not just because what he did to her, but what he did to all of the other mutant species. Shaking her head, she took a bite out of her big mac, her golden eyes flashing with satisfaction. "So good..."

"Aruen....Chet...." Lyra whispered, her eyes gazing fearfully at the girl drinking the McFlurry.

Suddenly, Emily felt a gaze upon her. Looking towards Lyra, her golden eyes narrowed slightly at her, yet she soon became more calm. She was just a kid, probably didn't know it wasn't right to stare at others. Eh, whatever, she'll learn Emily thought, finishing her Big Mac and micFlirry, throwing it into the trash can basketball style. "Score" she grinned, her long hair swaying back and forth on her left shoulder as she got up, humming slightly as looking at her left hand, sharpening her nails/claws. She was soon to get revenge on her father. He totally deserves what was ocming. Eager to spread out her wings, she decided against it, she was still hungry.

Aruen gave Lyra a questioning look before following her gaze to see what she was looking at.
She looked at the golden eyed girl in confusion.
'Why does Lyra look so scared I wonder...?'
Chet picked up on this thought, he also turned to look at the girl.
'Dunno...She seems pretty normal to me. Aside from the weird eye colour and the hair...then again it could just be coloured contacts. She could have dyed her hair...'
'Stop thinking like a normal person Chet. It doesnt suit you.'
'Oh haha.'

"She's a mutant...like us..." Lyra whispered. "Do you think the school has begun sending other mutants to track us down now?" she asked paranoidly.

Hearing Lyra's question to her flock, Emily couldn't help but chuckle with amusement. Yeah, sure. That's me. a mutant girl who's helping the Erasers and the scientists. Oh, totally she thought sarcastically as she twirled a piece of white hair with her left index finger, humming softly to herself as she closed her golden eyes.

"Well they already are arent they?"
Chet whispered.
"If the Erasers arent mutants then I dont know WHAT they are."
Aruen sighed.
"What did you see? She could just be another mutant on the run from The School/Itex you know."
Chet nodded in agreement.
'We shouldnt jump to conclusions just yet.'
He thought to Aruen.
She gave a mental nod of agreement.
'Yeah.'

"I just could hear her telling herself over and over again to keep her ears hidden...and that she's a mutant and such. She's thinking about her father now...Her father's a whitecoat!" she nearly shrieked the last part holding onto Aruen's arm, shaking.

((Funny how Chet and Aruens father is also a whitecoat but they dont know it huh...I cant WAIT to see their reactions when the time comes for them to find out...*Cue evil laughter.*))


"How does she feel about her father? What are you getting? Is she angry or proud or what?"
Aruen asked as she tried to calm Lyra down.
Chet was watching the girl warily out of the corner of his eyes.

Emily yawned as she grabbed a cookie from the counter and payed five bucks before sitting back down, taking a bite out of the chocolate chip dessert. If only mom was still here...she loved chocolate chip... she thought sadly, slightly angry and depressed how her own father killed her own mother, her best friend. "Not fair..." she murmured and closed her eyes softly.

"I..I think angry." Lyra whispered.

"Then maybe she isnt an enemy. Maybe shes a potential allie?"
Aruen said softly.
"We should watch her closely though. Just in case."
Chet shrugged and took a sip of his coke.
'So long as she isnt planning on murdering us or giving away our location im cool.'

Lyra nodded, calming down a bit. She took a bite of her fish sandwich and then munched the rest of it down.

Chet and Aruen began eating their own food too.
They came to a silent agreement for Aruen to keep watch.

Lyra soon finished her other sandwich too. Yawning, she leaned on Arue 'as shoulder and began to fall into a light sleep.

Emily suddenly felt a different stare looking at her and she couldn't help but look over to them at the corner of her eyes. Giving up she then got up, slightly frusterated and walked to them, a hand on her right hip. "Alright, what gives?' she asked casually, raising her eyesbrows.

Lyra jerked awake and stared up at the girl with huge, scared eyes again. "Don't hurt us!!!!" she wailed.

"Hn?"
Aruen looked at Emily, confused.
"Im sorry do I know you?"

Chet covered Lyra's mouth.
"Sssh." He whispered.

He smiled at Emily.
"Sorry. Shes not good around strangers, they make her nervous."

Lyra was shaking, and couldn't stop no matter how hard she tried.

Chet gave her a look that said 'play along.'

"Yeah, sorry, I just couldn't help but think you guys were...staring at me" Emily said softly then looked to Lyra. "It's alright, I'm no harm" she said soothingly, yet that was false. Yeah, she wasn't going to harm them, but doesn't mean she couldn't cause it.

Layla watched with wide eyes.

"Sorry for bothering you."
Aruen said.

"It's alright" Emily asked with a warm smile. She then glanced at them and titled her head. 'Uh. not to intrude, but, where's your parents?" she asked.

Layla inched over to Aruen. "Can I wait outside?" she whispered quietly.

"Of course." She said to Layla.
"Just dont go far kay?"
To Emily she said.
"Why are you asking?"
She rolled her eyes, acting perfectly natural.
"But if you must know they're at work not too far from here."
Lying came naturally to Aruen so she was usually the one to get them out of bad situations.

Emily nodded and shrugged. "yeah, sorry it's just, i didn't think parents let kids go out in public on their own" she said apologettically. "But, in all fair, I don't even know what parents do" she shrugged nonchalantly.

Aruen said, smiling slightly.

"I'm Emily, Emily Grace" She said with a smile and looked to the group. "And you guys are...?"
