Lush Library discussion

I think it would be great to have a lush library secret Santa only with books. Since all our tastes are on here it shouldn't involve as much as the questionnaire filling forum secret Santas. We could also choose how many we want to send out with a set maximum.
So does anyone fancy organising one ? ? ?

I would volunteer but the organiser can't take part can they?

Don't see why not - just means your Santa wouldn't be a secret? I'd send you a book mate ;)

+ that would suck. I'd like to send around 3. Book lists would have to be up to date though and I think it would be easier to make it that we don't send a book on the persons list (so we can assume they own it without them having to make a New list of books they own).

Why don't you send out a mail to everyone to see who wants to take part - or set up a poll and invite everyone asking them to comment if they want to take part

Did you send invites? When you do click the tab for members so that it's not just friends that are invited. I edited the poll so that you can click on _ votes and it will tell you who has responded what:)

No I don't think I did, the poll section always makes my computer crash for some reason so I wasn't even sure I'd managed to set up a poll before it went!

Thank you people that have voted, I know that it's a bit much for those who are already involved in advent/secret santa/homemade santa etc so i understand that but for those who are yes or maybe I was thinking that we could just send 1 book, which could be second hand if in decent condition. If you have a book already that you think 'x' would really like, I will try to match you up with 'x' to make it easier. Any other suggestions let me know, thank you

I am happy to do 1 how do we know what people already own? I usually mark to read those I don't actually own... Does anyone else do that?

I've got quite a blot of the books on my to read list. I think it would be easier to give books that aren't on the persons lists but are judged on them (their tastes). Will also be more of a surprise and we might get a book that we haven't heard of or otherwise have picked IYSWIM

I think we have just about enough yes votes to go ahead - anyone else is welcome to change their mind too. Shall we start off by everyone sending me a message with a bit of info on what they do and don't like and I will match you up with your swapper
