I LOVE Jonah! Honestly half way through the last book I accepted Ethan being gone as long as Jonah was there to step in. There is definitely a connection between him and Merit, I wonder where they're going to go with that...
I like Jonah too, and I started to accept him being with Merit too. I think that Ethan is going to be the one she ends up with though. I am kind of sad for Jonah. Maybe we will get a spin off series about him and the red guard?!
I think she's going to end up with Ethan too, but I'm trying to find the significance of their chemistry...I doubt it was put into the book without some kind of a reason behind it :scratches head:
Interesting, I was thinking it was just the love triangle thing! He dated Merit's sister too which is odd!!!
I like Ethan a lot but I think that if Jonah and Merit would be together that Id still be okay with it. I got to see his personality in Drink Deep. And he never forced Merit to pay attention to him or to love him, he was just there when he's needed.
I honestly can't see Merit with anyone but Ethan. The way things went down in Hard Bitten, and then at the end of Drink Deep for Merit and Ethan... I would be shocked if in the end, and after all they've been through, Merit ends up with Jonah... I will say that I think Jonah will test their relationship because Merit and Jonah do have an undeniable connection and are friends at the very least, and among other things "may" make Ethan jealous for lack of a better word. But Jonah seems too honorable to go between them on purpose. I wouldn't like Jonah very much if he actively tried to break them up. I want Jonah to find his HEA though :)
Ethan is also a familiar to a sorceress who is addicted to black magic...I'm sure that will cause some sort of rift in their relationship. Plus eventually he's going to find out about the RG...it just seems a lot of their relationship has been based on lies. At least the "relationship" with Jonah is healthy. Drink Deep really changed my mind about who I would like Merit to end up with.
I agree the whole "familiar" thing will be interesting and definitely affect the relationship... And yes, Ethan will definitely find out about the RG and i'm not sure how he'll take it. It's definitely been a bumpy road for Merit and Ethan, but i can't forget that he sacrificed his life for her in Hard Bitten. That was a HUGE moment and spoke volumes about Ethan's evolution as a character!!! Overall, I loved Ethan in Hard Bitten. You have to remember that he's significantly older (and more cynical) but he's learned a lot from his mistakes with Merit especially, and was really trying to change - Ethan in Some Girls Bite is really different from Ethan in Hard Bitten... and in a good way.
I will say, if Ethan had stayed dead, i would have been a-ok with Jonah/Merit, but that's not the case. And now that Ethan has a second chance, he'd be an idiot to screw it up. I think Jonah deserves more than being third wheel though - because he was great in Drink Deep and i really don't want him put into "that" role, you know!
I would've loved for Jonah and Merit to bet togther if there was no Ethan! I feel quote bad for him. He would be so perfect for her! ;))

But it seems like Ethan has changed from the person he used to be in order to be with Merit which give me hope that they might last. I would be sort of shock if they broke up and she goes with Jonah after all I think the series are about them.
I liked Jonah but I don't see him ever being Merit's HEA. While Merit likes him as a friend it seemed pretty clear to me that she loves Ethan. I mean, Jonah's little stolen kiss in the last book sent Merit straight to Ethan's bed where she ended up spending the night 0 just so that she could surround herself with his scent. That doesn't bode well for Jonah's chances, lol. Besides, there is the matter that Ethan sacrificed his life for Merit and you can't make a bigger gesture of selfless love than that. I don't foresee any triangles either since Chloe has said at ther forum that she doesn't enjoy reading about love triangles and so she doesn't write them. To which I say "Halle-freakin'-lujah!"
