The Thorn Birds was a book I really, really liked - a long time ago.

Uh... I might be missing something, but how is The Fellowship of the Ring South African? I'm really curious.

Wrong list for South Africa. Should read "Playing the Enemy." I'm trying to compile two lists for two challenges and overstepped myself.

You could always shuffle it for England instead of Rebecca... assuming you don't want to also read Rebecca.

I just realized that I'd posted on the wrong thread. I'm doing another post where we're reading by countries of birth of the authors, and some of mine for this list are wonkity because I posted the wrong ones.

I imagine Enchantress of Florence is under the wrong country too?

This is a great list, and I've updated your selections on the master list. There are a few titles on here I wish I could read again for the first time - The Summer Book, The Historian, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao were all great favorites of mine.

I'm (most likely) reading Doctor Zhivago too. Er, in Russian, though.

Meagan, are you reading Dr. Z in Spanish? This could be a whole new and different type of group read.

I read Dr Zhivago last winter in another group or I'd join you all. Really liked the book. Enjoy.
