Authors Society discussion

I am soon beginning my 2nd year teaching a 6 session fiction writing workshop to high school girls in Key West. Last year, 8 girls participated, and all produced short pieces of writing which had merit. Does anyone have any experience that might be helpful as I plan a new course outline for this year?
