too many to count but am especially fond of: Laurell K. Hamilton (both her Anita Blake and her Merry Gentry series), Anne Bishop, Mercedes Lackey Valdemar series & Diana Tregarde series, J.D.Robb, Elizabeth Lowell, Julie Garwood,Agatha Christie, John Dickson Carr, Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. I reread these authors over and over during my 50 years of reading at an adult level.

Kyousuke Motomi, the author of Dengeki Daisy, who, is actually a girl. lol. :)

My favourite manga author would have to be Kaori Yuki.

Paul Auster and David Mitchell are at the top of my list, but I have so many favorite authors.

My favorite manga authors are Naoki Urasawa and Aoyama Gosho

I haven't read anything by Naoki Urasawa but Detective Conan is really great.
And Code Geass is definitely a favourite of mine. :D
