One of the things I am starting to notice is that it seems that the latter portion of the book is really starting to remind me a lot of Don Quixote as Tom Jones beings having all these various little side adventures. Partridge also seems an apt stand in for Sancho, while in some regards he is more practical than Jones, he also has a more lax moral compass and he remains persistent about following Jones in spite of the hardships and difficulties which it causes him.
