I think that it's so ingrained in our culture that when purchasing music there is some artwork associated with it. When we finally change media I believe you will still have 'cover art' or some other type of image that embodies the band/album and or message. Either that or they will sell these small chips in abnormal size packages that still have some sort art/leaflet inside.

Well, for starters, KD would be the first in line to get implanted and through his subversivness to the wind in the name of art.... Oh, you didn't mean that kind of chip... Well, can we chip him anyway? Maybe Not Bill while we're at it? Make 'em so much easier to keep track of.... ;-)
I've been buys and listening to music since I was in 3rd grade. My first two tapes were Weird Al in 3D and Duran Duran's Seven and the Ragged Tiger.
I've purchase and listen to more music now, in this iTunes and digital download age, than I ever have. I buy more music now than I did when I worked at Tower Records.
I love right now - it's the best time ever to be a fan of music. So much is so readily available, and it is getting easier every day to hear new things.
