Why did refer to myself as 'HIM' in your very kind congratulations above? Do I a subconscious belief that I'm the Pope? Or the queen of England?
Hi Naomi. The was for Lucifer's Tears. Kirkus is the toughest nut to crack. It fills authors with fear and trepidation. I'm quite proud of the honor bestowed. No big head for me. I feel privileged,, but not egotictical. Three years ago, I was a bartender in neighborhood that was all bars and Thai massage joints. Suddenly, I have 11 publíshers worldwide. It's humbling, more than anything.

Jim, what is Lapland? Any idea yet with US release on DVD?? Would it be like Steig Larsson's original movies released here?

Fabulous James.....on pre order and keen to read number three.....and in time the film or films. These things take so long to develop to completion but will be waiting.
Found your comments about Lapland very interesting as I just completed reading the four English translations of Asa Larsson's first four excellent books and I was totally seduced by the fabulous descriptions of the nature, weather and culture in Lapland. I sensed that huge difference wet cold and dry cold ....
Wish you every success with HW and look forward to more....S

Depends on who you ask, but Lapland is usually defined as an area mostly in the Arctic Circle, and stretches across parts of Sweden, Norway and Finland, and goes north all the way to the Barents Sea. I'm just a screenwriter, so I don't know all of the marketing/business details about the films. But yeah, they're budgeted about the same, and the principle is pretty much the same. A trilogy that tells a good story in a location most people haven't seen before. Usually, distribution goes through Europe and last to the U.S., but of course the States is a huge market and everyone wants to see that happen. Like books though, movies are sold through distributors by region, so you never know. The Larsson movies though, are a good and simple comparison. These work the same way.
