I'll admit I wasn't crazy about the idea at first, but I find it reminds me a lot of Buffy. It's got the one-liners that make you laugh and a snarky demon hunter. He's a little more troubled than Buffy ever was I think, and has no Giles, but I think he's got potential. His Scooby Squad is composed of a Pilates addicted, wine drinking werewolf, which is where most of the funny comes in.

It will never quite be Buffy because the dialog just isn't there, but it's a fine 45ish minutes of amusement.

My husband and I have been watching this, but he likes it a lot more than I do. It feels way too much like every other cop show / supernatural hunter show ever. I like Once Upon A Time better (but even there I'm still waiting to see if it's going to become a favorite.)

I should try Once Upon A Time, a few friends have mentioned they like it, but it just never struck me as all that interesting. I might have been put off by a post I scanned somewhere that talked about the first episode having to do with a unicorn murder mystery or something. Just didn't strike my fancy.

Grimm's becoming one of my favored shows. I like 'Once Upon a Time', also. I haven't watched the last two episodes, though. I don't have cable and I've lost the antenna signal for ABC. Bummer.

I wish Det. Grimm had a Giles which, of course, would be Aunty Grimm. 'Grimm' has a long term story mystery where we get bits and pieces in each episode. I prefer the crimes that are solved in one night's viewing. I really like the 'big, bad, wolf'. I wish Det. Grimm would give the wolf his due. Last week we saw who the big (monster?)boss was. I just don't know how big a threat to humans said boss is. I need to learn the character's names. Grimm's partner is cool.

Grimms ok..not sure I'm loving it. There is something about the actor who plays Grim that just doesn't make him believable...

On that I agree, I wish they would have picked another actor.

I don't remember anything about a unicorn in any of the episodes. It's about Emma, and Henry, the little boy she gave up for adoption ten years ago, who believes that Emma is really from an alternate reality of fairytales - and is the only one who can save all the fairytale people from the curse they are under.

I have been watching Grimm. I loved the first episode, the second, not as good. My husband was watching, but also didnt like the second. I think it has loads of potential. I am also not sold on the casting of the main character. Time will tell!

I am watching Once Upon a Time. No unicorns in that...yet?? I like it, but not sure yet if I will stick with it, or why I like it.

I'd like to watch more of Grimm, but it's scheduled opposite to Supernatural. I haven't stoked up enough interest yet to see if it's available online, but I may do that eventually. I only saw the pilot so far, and that was fairly interesting.

Once upon a time is as good. I didn't think they could to the fairy tale thing well - but I am totally enjoying it. Love Grimm too - Love them both though. The wolf on Grimm cracks me up.

I've seen...I guess three...episodes of Once Upon a Time. My only real problem with it so far is that I really don't like the actress who plays Snow White. IMHO she's a complete dud. Otherwise, it's not bad.

Ohhh I love the snow white chick. In the real world she is perfect for the part.

I loved the Grimm series in the beginning. I now think that after watching the series for a little while that they are missing something. I think they are not gritty enough. They need to make the series more scary.

I watched Grimm for the first time last week, and I liked it better than "Once Upon a Time". (I agree with Contratrarius about the Snow White actress in that series!)

I think that what the Grimm show needs is *one* super cop type character with a dark past. I love it when the main character is working out his/her issues while solving the case.

I've been watching "Person of Interest" with Jim Caviezel and his character fits the bill. I'm not 100% in love with the series, but I like that they're building his character into someone dark and mysterious.

Well, I found Grimm available online -- so now I can catch up with the episodes I missed. :)

My Hubby and I watch it.. We Love it.

I am loving both the Grimm and Once upon a time shows, and I really love Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White, but then I have a long time crush on Ginnifer anyway from watching Big Love.

In total agreement with you, Lynn. It's too family friendly for my tastes, but other than that its not too bad. And I also don't care for the actor playing the main character. If anyone has ever read the original Grimm's fairy tales, they are not family friendly, are they? The show should be as dark and scary as the original tales are.

I used to read those original fairy tales from a book my mom had, and they creeped me out as a kid! I think the reason I loved them so much was because they weren't sanitized.

Oh yes! the original stories are actually quite grisly. I think the show is doing what they have to do to maintain mass market appeal, and while that's a little sad, you can't blame them. I wish they'd go a little more gritty too, but there isn't much farther they can go on Broadcast TV.

I agree. Although, I am kind of having the opposite problem with American Horror Story which has become so troubling (imho) that I don't know if I can continue watching it. I've already told my 16 yo daughter that she can't watch it any more. I was doing okay up until the last episode. I'd like to see them reign things in a little.

I am watching American Horror Story. I love it. I agree it's a little disturbing. My husband and I decided not to watch it before bed anymore. Not because it's scary, it's just so disturbing! I still like it, but I can understand you not wanting your kids watching it.

Not me. Watched the first episode and found the MC to be TSTL. I am watching Once Upon A Time. Cheesy as heck though, but sure is interesting. =D

Lol. My daughters and I watch OUAT, too. My kids are a little too old for it (it's pretty tame), but somehow, we keep watching.

I did love the end of the last episode of AHS when (view spoiler)[Ben finally saw the maid for who she is (hide spoiler)]. It gave me hope for his character.

Love Person of Interest. Great show. And I enjoy Once Upon a Time as much as Grimm. The wolf in Grimm is my favorite. LOL

'Grimm' is going to be on Thursday and Friday this week. I'll have to remember to be on the couch at 9pm CST tonight. It's on the regular time on Friday (8pm CST).

I didn't record the Thursday episode because I already had two things scheduled. I'll have to grab that one on OnDemand :(

I've been watching it, but it feels disappointing.

The Grimm ability kinda weakens the mystery that would keep a police procedural show going. I wish they'd do more world building.

Richard I am still waiting to see what the Grimm guy can do other than look up information? Shouldn't he have special abilities??

It's also been bugging me they haven't answered why some of the creatures seem to know he is a GRIMM right away and some don't. ..whats up with that?!

Thank you, Jackie. That was bothering me, too, about some knowing he's a Grimm and some not.

Also, I'd also like to see more world-building. Like - could these creatures always pass as humans? If not, when were they able to get this ability? How did it happen? So on and so forth.

I'm starting to agree with the people who say that the actor who plays Grim just doesn't have the spark necessary for a lead action role. I seriously can't remember his face. I can visualize all the other actor's faces, but not his. He does have pretty blue eyes, but everything else about him is unremarkable. I feel bad saying that, but I'm worried that the show is going to fail and I want it to succeed.

I only saw the two episodes they showed last week of "Grimm." I thought I was the only one who didn't know what a Grimm is... I may watch for a little longer, but they better start explaining the premise...

I also missed the beginning of "Once Upon a Time," but I quite like Genifer Godwin (who plays Snow White/ Mrs Blanche-- she was in "Big Love") and the actress who plays Emma who was in "House." I don't feel so lost not having seen the first episodes of OUaT. And finding eps of these and many eps of tv On Demand is much less easy than one would think...

I love Grimm. The premise is that the Grimm Faery Tales are true & the bloodlines go on for both the Big Bads & the Heroes of the stories. The main character is of the Hero bloodline, known as a Grimm.
He can both see & kill them. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer people came up with this. Buffy had a rocky 1st year or so but went on to be a WOW. I hope ABC gives it a real chance like WB did for Buffy.

I like Once Upon a Time also. It's done by the Lost creators but I don't think it will get that kind of following.

I love Grimm. Also enjoy Once upon a time. It seems my friends and fiance prefer Once upon better, although Grimm is more for me because it's more adult and gritty.

I prefer 'Grimm' a little bit more than 'Once Upon a Time', but only a bit. I really want both shows to survive anther season or three. I don't know how they are going to go past one season with 'Once Upon a Time', but I'm sure the producers and writers have plans (I hope). 'Grimm' should have a continuous flow of special people (good, bad and so-so), mystery and intrigue.

Now that I've seen the first episode of "Grimm" last week when they didn't think anyone was watching tv, the series'll make a bit more sense.

I prefer "Once Upon a Time," because the cast and storylines are bigger and more seems to be happening. "Grimm"'s a cop show: though I gotta say I like the Portland setting-- with two-natured folks and monsters.

I love that, too! The forest in the show is so fairy tale-ish!

One of the things I like best about a lot of UF books is that the city it takes place in is often nearly a character. (I get the feeling that I could use Kevin Hearne's Hounded series as a guide to Tempe, AZ. I am pretty sure the characters' favorite burrito place is a real place, y'know?)
That's true of Grimm for me. I suppose it's filmed in Vancouver, but it looks like what I imagine Portland looks like. But not so much for Once Upon a Time with its mythical city Storyland.

Okay, I definitely noticed some better on screen chemistry between the two detectives last episode. The guy playing the Grimm still needs to step up his game...though there's nothing he do about his face to make me like him. Sorry, that sounded really cruel even for me.

I think the Grimm character has a lot of potential, and I don't think the writers utilize it, either. A lot of times, though, characters in a series take a while to fully develop. Capt. Picard on Star Trek changed a lot from the first few episodes.

I don't think the actor who plays Grimm is too bad looking. He's no Eric Northman, but still... ;)

I am enjoying Grimm a lot. I like Cop/detective shows and UF so, for me, this show combines two things that I enjoy. My husband isn't sold on it though. So, I DVR it and watch it while I'm folding laundry and the kids are at school.

I am watching it and really enjoying it. i like the light bits of humor thrown in to lighten the characters up. My favorite character is the side kick -The "monster" clock maker- he is a blast

I decided to not make Nick an issue. I think that part of my problem with him was that he isn't a kick ass hero. He solves crimes like the cop he is and that's ok. I do adore Monroe. Last week's episode demonstrated that some of the underground community is not pleased with Monroe. I wonder what type of man the captain is.

I like it! I also like Once Upon a Time, which calls to the girly-side of me, but I think I might like Grimm better. The first couple of episodes, I was on the fence about, but now? Yeah. I am sucked IN!

I like both Grimm and Once Upon A Time. Once Upon A Time is cute while Grimm is a bit on the dark side. I really like the way the writers for both shows twisted the original stories to create something different and entertaining.

I DVR both shows in order to FF the commercials... WTH!
