They're currently in beta right now. I'm sure if you signed up you could get in and take a look before it launches.
It's not new but give EV Nova a go. It's available for most OS's and there's a free 30-day trial.http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/evn/
Multiple storylines, clean graphics, great gameplay, you can custom build your spacecraft and even have your own epic fleet.
Let me suggest some older PC games (I played exclusive PC for years. I own a PS2 my son bought me for Christmas a few years ago...but still almost always play my PG RPGs).These are excellent RPGs (again I play RPGs almost exclusively) in my humble opinion.
My favorite is Baldur's Gate 2 (and the expansion, Throne of Bhaal). Incredibly detailed game (especially for the time) you can go through most any door, the game is full of hidden quests (both long and short). Sometimes you need to have a specific NPC with you to trigger a given quest, but then the character can be dropped and another can be picked up. Single player and multiplayer are available. I love this game and still keep it loaded on my computer. The entire set is now available for like $20.
There's also Diablo 2 (again, and expansion. The expansion here adds so much content it's like a new game). This is a third person action RPG and another I've played many, many times.
There are a few others but these are my favorites.
Baldur's Gate is great, Dutch, I agree with Mike.
Also, I am enjoying Fable quite a lot and it was CHEAP, I bought it on a whim.
I have heard really good things about Diablo, but haven't played it yet.
Final Fantasy is always a good option as well.
