Here is a note about page numbers, from the publisher's perspective. The page numbers of the story is one reference, but when a publisher looks at the page count for a book, they are often referencing the total page count of the book including front and back matter along with any required blank pages for the print signatures. For example, The Labbitt Halsey Protocol is 343 pages per the story, but the "official" page count that we use 358 for all proper registrations.

Either number works in my view. I just wanted to share some background as I see this topic often.

Thank you for your input Jill, but we are asked to follow the Librarian Manual at Goodreads, which states:

"The number of pages in a book is meant to include all content except for advertisements and preview chapters for other books. Included end material may include acknowledgments, afterwords, appendices, glossaries, indexes, notes, and suggested discussion questions.

Introductory material paged using roman numerals is not included in the total page count. "
