The village of Kaius is as remote as its castle, however, it overlooks the valley that the castle is situated in. The village is quite large and the houses are varied. Some are made from brick, others stone and others wood. Every family has a pet cat.

Damian walked the cobblestone paths through the village of Kaius, breathing the clean air with a smile. "I love the outdoors." He said dreamily, jogging a little as he reached the outskirts of town. When the fields of grass started, he listened for the sound of roaming cats before flopping onto a well-worn patch that had been shaped to his curled up figure. Turning up to the sky with a couple of blinks to get the dirt out of his eyes, he stared up at the clouds with his back on a gently sloping hill; right before they soared up to slanted side of the mountains around him. If he didn't have a house to stay in, he would most definitely live out here.
Damian let the breeze ruffle his hair as he sighed contentedly, gazing at the scenery before him with heavy-lidded eyes. They passed over the entrance to town without a second thought, but for some reason, he glanced back over. "...Wait a minute..."
Without realizing it, he sat up among the grass and squinted. "...Is that a kid?" He wondered, raising an eyebrow. He seems a little off... Is he leaving town? Giving Shinji a once-over, he couldn't find any traveling sacks or other indications of what he was doing, so he just speculated from afar; wondering if he would be noticed. Usually, nobody comes out here. The residents of this town are too uptight.

Damian was almost surprised as the boy noticed him. Do I really stand out that much? He wondered to himself, but he gave a friendly smile and a gesture for him to come over. Oh well. He lives in the village, so I'll meet him one way or another. Why not now? He laughed at himself on the inside, giving his friendly smile somewhat of a dopey look. The wind gave a firm gust this time, but it wasn't enough to make someone feel like they were going to blow away. It was actually quite pleasant, and Damian couldn't help but admire the beauty around him.
((it's k.))
Damian loosely linked his fingers together while they wrapped around his legs; his attention being drawn towards the sky again. Hmm. I wonder if he has an ability? He asked himself, giving Shinji another smile as he got closer. "Hi. I'm Damian. Sorry about this weird meeting, but I'm also a resident of Kaius. I just don't stay in town much." He explained himself, extending a hand for a handshake.

"Y'know, people usually introduce themselves when they first meet someone, right?" Damian gave a friendly laugh, indicating that the grass was free next to him. "What's your name, stranger?" He asked, laying back down in the grass. The clouds he had been observing earlier had long since passed, but that was okay. He liked change. Most of the time.
Damian's hearing allowed him to hear the sound of Shinji's jaw move, but when he looked over, the boy clamped his mouth shut. "...Cat got your tongue?" He asked, glancing over as a black and white tom prowled through the grass for a light meal. "C'mon, I promise I don't bite." He offered kindly, smiling warmly.
Damian had to stretch his neck a little bit, but when Shinji moved aside, it brought a small grin to his face. "So you really won't talk, huh?" He smiled, laughing a little bit. "You know, I can read lips. If you just mouth stuff to me, I'll understand." He offered. "Unless drawing in the dirt makes you feel more secure?"
((Oh... I didn't know you commented. No update >.>))
"Mm... It's a skill I picked up." Damian said casually, shifting a little bit so he could see Shinji's face better. "Can't say where or when, but I did. And it's a good thing, right? Now you don't have to just stay silent all the time." He smiled, wrapping his arms around his legs as he let himself slouch. "I'm assuming that you've permanently lost your voice...?"

((Lol, thanks?))
Damian gained a child-like grin of temptation as he resisted the urge to pester Shinji. "I would ask what that means, but you must not be sure either, huh?" He asked another question, pulling gently at grass as blade after blade was uprooted. "I'm glad you can at least communicate without having to write or draw or anything." The older boy cheerfully exclaimed, humming to himself as if in a good mood.

Damian just kept smiling, observing Shinji quietly as the wind ruffled his hair. When he heard high pitched, gentle whistling, he visibly perked up. "Hey... The Whistling Grass regrew from last year!" He said in an excited tone, not exactly expecting the stranger to know what he was talking about. "Oh boy oh boy~" He sang out loud, hefting himself to his feet to get a better vantage point. Checking the direction of the wind, he headed up the flow, searching for the source of noise.
Sometimes, Damian forgot the fact that his hearing was much better than normal, due to his happy-go-lucky personality. Rustling through the grass for the patch that he planted last spring, he made a delighted peal of laughter as he plucked a stem. "It's been a while since I've seen this stuff..." He thought out loud, turning to Shinji with an expression of excitement. "Have you ever heard of whistling grass? It's really fun to play with, because you can make sound with it." He explained, rolling it between his fingers to warm it up.
After thoroughly preparing the stem of grass with a small bell-like flower, he trotted back to Shinji and plopped himself down, crossing his legs. "See this?" He asked the other boy, holding it out towards him. "This is whistling grass. My parents used to take me out here and we would find the plants and use them all up, but I plant new patches each year. Do you want to see how it works?" He offered, smiling happily as the warm glow of the memories of his parents set in.
Damian got a mischievous look in his eyes as a giggle escaped. "You put it to your lips like this," He demonstrated, putting the rim of the bell to his chin, "And then you blow like you're whistling. Like this." Damian drew a soft breath, then exhaled as he listened to the beautiful sound it made. It was loud and clear, just like tinkling wind chimes, and as Damian fluxed how much air he was putting in, it changed pitches; and soon, he was just having fun as he randomly made up melodies to play.
Damian glanced over to Shinji as he saw his jaw starting to move, then abruptly stopped playing as he nearly burst out laughing. "You don't know how to whistle?" He asked incredulously. "Wow! Where have you been in the.... Wait..." The older boy took on a puzzled look as he tried to think of something. "...Er... How old are you again?"
"...Thirteen? Hmm. Are you sure you've never done it?" Damian asked, whistling by himself, without the grass, as an example. "I mean, even if you can't speak, you only need to breathe to be able to whistle. You know. Pucker up and blow air through your teeth. That's how my friend describes it but..." He dawned a strange expression, "...She's not the best at explaining things.
((Feu already decided on a girl XD))
Damian looked at Shinji curiously, both reading his lips and his body language. He blinked once before his expression softened, and he gave the younger boy an awkward smile. "...Did I offend you?" He asked with a low tone, resting his chin on his knees as he sighed. "I'm sorry... I'm used to being like this because of my friend Anisa. The one who can't explain stuff." He gave a playful, dopey grin. "Don't tell her I said that about her, though... She'd kill me for real this time."

((Can I jim in to this roleplay?? Make myself a character? Because honestly, I have not roleplayed at all in this group, even though I created it...))
Damian's expression was replaced by concern and a bit of curiosity as he read what Shinji was mouthing. "...Erm... Alright. What is it?" He prompted, crossing his legs as he stared at the boy. D'aww... He looks kinda cute when he's blushing. He thought to himself, his lips curling into a cheery smile.
"....Eh?" Damian's head tipped as he realized how light Shinji's question is. Resisting the urge to giggle, though, he straightened himself up, then let himself slouch. "Um... Well... Friends are..." He scratched his head as he tried to think of words to describe them. "...People you can rely on. When you're feeling sad and you need someone to help you out, friends are the people that do that."
Realizing that his mediocre description wasn't going to cut it, Damian gave a sigh before raking his brain for an easier way of putting it. "...Well... It's not really that you can tell, per say. It's more... You feel it. On the inside. And you can just kind of... trust them." Then, after playing that back to himself, he decided to elaborate. "When you have a problem and you need help, a friend is a person who's helped you before and is willing to help again. A friend... Is someone that you can believe in, and someone who believes in you. It's the kind of feeling that dawns on you long after it's actually been established." He smiled a little bit, bringing the whistling grass back up to his lips as he played another small tune to let it drift in the wind.
Anisa, knowing that Damian would be nestled out in the fields somewhere, swiftly made her way to the edge of the town. She saw a cloudy blip with her horrible eyesight in the distance and decided that was him. She quickly sprinted over too him. When she noticed they were having a little conversation she stopped to listen. After Damian's last sentence she knew it was the time. "LIKE ME!" she yelped as she bounded up next to him. Her light green hair blew in the wind engulfing Damian's face.
((>.> You guys spammed. And Aria, Shinji, Damian and Anisa are all out in a field, outside of the village.))
Damian jumped a little bit as Anisa, his friend, sprung at him out of nowhere. "Oh... Hey, Ani!" He said after recovering from the slight jump, rubbing his head sheepishly as he fell for her trick again. Her pattern never changes, yet I never get used to it! He thought with a small laugh, shielding his face as her hair whipped at him in the wind. He had just about been ready to ask her a question, but his hearing had once again been returned to it's normal level (super human), and he detected a scuttling from afar, closer than the usual traffic in the village. ...Hmm. That's odd.
((I know, I was telling Aria because she said that she could hear a conversation in town. And there's nobody else, and I doubt people in town would have one-sided conversations as well... >.>))
Anisa look suddenly hardened as she picked up on Damian's stress with her sight. She could read people like maps. There emotions, there fears, they came across to her as hers own. "Whats wrong?" she said with a concerned tone.
"Huh?" Damian asked innocently, looking back at his friend. "Uh... nothing?" He used one had to keep Anisa's hair away, the other searching for the stem he had lost when he got jumped. He knew that she knew that he was distressed, but his care-free attitude came back as he found the whistling grass, a smile lighting his face. "Hummmm~" He said with a slight purr in his voice, playing another melody among the chaos around him.
Lilliana wanded down the dusty country path, looking for something to do. As she walked, she heard voices in a nearby field just to the left of her. There was a clearing that looked onto the field, surrounded by trees so that there was cover. Lilliana darted behind a large oak tree and peered around the massive trunk. Three people. A girl and two boys, one that seemed quite young. Lilliana watched them, listening. As she craned forward, wanting to hear more, she stepped on a stick, causing a loud crack. She gasped, darting back out of sight, pressing herself against the tree.
Damain, having been alerted to a sound earlier, immediately picked up on it. Although nobody else could have heard it from the distance (along with the wind and his own melody on the whistling grass), he didn't say anything. His sky blue eyes narrowed in caution, but Damian merely took another breath as he conjured a second tune from nowhere. ...Who's watching us...? His ears pricked to listen for more noise, though he kept a whimsical smile for Shinji and Anisa.
Anisa could now feel the distress from everyone. She picked up on Damian's stress levels fluctuating as he whistled into the silly grass. She also saw the smaller boys stress levels skyrocketed as he reached for his pocket. She knew he had a gun. She frowned and then looked at the nearby tree and then back at Damian. "You can't fool me bud. Remember, I read people like books. you especially." She huffed. Because of all the recent changes Anisa learned to toughen up. She may be her old self on the outside but on the inside she was changed. She even had some of the village thugs teach her how to fight.
She stood up and walked a few paces closer. "Okay, please come out and show yourself. If you don't we will find you and possibly harm you so can we please try to make this easy." She said in a pleading tone
Lilliana heard the voice. The girl. Her heart was beating wildly and she was starting to get worried. She hesitated, before stepping out from behind the tree into the shadows. Her golden hair illuminated the space around her but her face was still wrapped in shadows. Lilliana stared at the girl, her eyes menacing. She turned her gaze on the two boys now that she could see them better. Yes, one was definitely younger than the other. "What do you want?" she murmured, just wanting to disappear out of sight once more.
Anisa, her voice unchanging replied to the girls question. "What I want is for you to show your face and tell us your intentions." She immediately picked up on the girls fear and how her heart beat spiked. Well well well. A lost little doe has seemingly stumbled upon a little spot then hasn't she. Anisa said to herself while crossing her arms.
"H...Hey, c'mon you two... Calm down..." Damian said with a shaky laugh, raising his hands as if in submission as he recognized a cold, speculating look on his friend's face, directed at whoever had appeared from nowhere. "Seriously, if she was dangerous, she probably would have sprung at us by now." He offered an explanation, trying to reasoning with her, though it was a lost cause. In hopes of getting a more friendly response from the stranger, he turned to her, trying to make out her features. "I'm Damian. It's nice to meet you. I apologize for my friend... She's suspicious of everyone." He mentally prepared for a slap to the face from Anisa. "What's your name?"
Anisa was in complete and utter shock. She stormed up back to the place they were originally sitting and slumped in the tall grass, arms around her knees. In her rage she accidentally read Damian. He was still afraid what was back there but felt that he should reason with whatever it was. Typical Damian. she huffed mentally. She was fully repaired to rip him out of the situation if he got too close. You can't trust anyone these days.
Lilliana hesitated before stepping out from the shadows, into the light. She glanced over at Damian, obviously the older boy, "My name is Lilliana," she answered quietly, glancing at the girl. She was by far the most threatening. Lilliana glanced at the younger boy. He had not moved an inch from his position, however, his hand appeared to be hovering above his ankle. "You don't need to worry, I am of no threat to any of you," she said, her gaze flickering from face to face. "I was just passing through when I heard you. I'm simply curious so I came to investigate. I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea."
Anisa slowly stood up. She glanced the girl over and read her. She really did have good intentions then. She approached her slowly and cautiously. "I'm Anisa." She said holding out a hand.
Damian gave a silent exhale of relief. "...Thank god..." He muttered, adjusting his hat to move his bangs out of his eyes. Usually, she isn't so quick to accept people... Does that mean she trusts her...? He blinked with realization glancing over at the peculiar scene once more. ....Hmm. That's a nice change. Damian thought, smiling cheerfully as he looked around for his now-lost shred of grass.
Anisa picked up on Damian's sudden cheerfulness. "What makes you so happy all of a sudden." She smiled back at him keeping her hand out for the girl to shake.
Lilliana hesitated for a moment, then took Anisa's outstretched hand in her's, shaking it. "It is a pleasure to meet you," she said, quietly, dropping her own hand. Lilliana's gaze flicked to Damian and she gave him a little smile. "It is, of course, a pleasure to meet you also," she said, quietly. Lillana then glanced at the younger boy, "And you are...?" she asked, watching him with a curious expression, her head tilting to the side.
Lilliana watched him, head still tilted to the side, "I'm guessing that you aren't much of a speaker?" she asked softly, still watcing him with a curious expression on her face. I wonder why? she asked herself, still unsure of him. He was obviously not much of a threat, but Lilliana still noted that he was on high alert.
