Never read her before, but I recently found a great condition copy of The Stephen King Horror Library edition of The House Next Door
at Goodwill and had to get it, 'specially since I already have the first 3 books in that Horror Library set. Now just gotta get 'round to reading it :)

I met her once at a luncheon in Michigan. Gracious Southern Lady. Almost all of her books are about Southern Ladies and romance.
The House Next Door is a departure from her "norm" and pretty good. Read it a long time ago. Wouldn't mind trying it again.

I read The House Next Door several years ago and really enjoyed it. King talks at length about this novel in his book Danse Macabre and the information is reprinted in his book Secret Windows: Essays and Fiction on the Craft of Writing. Definitely worth reading!

I'm with you. No "bodice rippers" for me either!

Once upon a time I read my fair share of bodice-rippers, some of the better ones from back when. But now? Not for me! Been there, done that!
