Actually, I dont think Katniss has been born yet. Infact, Im pretty sure Panem does not exist at this moment in time. After all, the USA is still the USA, right?

Exactly. Panem will exist after the US collapses. As far as I know, I'm still in America right now. And Katniss will be after Panem has already existed for some time.

If something like this did happen (which honestly, it prob won't - its called fiction for a reason) then this is how it would happen, IMHO.

Before Katniss's time, there was a huge rebellion - thats how D13 got destroyed, remember? So after the US collapses, Panem will be created, they'll exist for a while, D13 will rebel, then Katniss's story will happen. Logically.

So she's a fake. I wonder why a fan whould pull a prank like this.

People enjoy that kind of thing. Maybe someone just decided it would be a fun joke. I don't know, but I can see some kid doing it to be funny.

I'm not sure if anyone is plotting. Jess said to email and ask how Katniss is alive. That's a perfectly legit question to ask some kid pretending to be her. He/she might even come up with an entertaining answer. Or maybe not.

I'm not following this topic. Did someone pretend she was Katniss? I'm really lost.

The original post is gone. Someone had commented to say that there was an e-mail address (I don't remember it), that if you e-mailed it, you got a response from Katniss. They were wondering if maybe it was real.
