M | 11617 comments Most of these have probably been used. This is just what came imediately to mind:

seduction
cross-examination
mysterious caller
what’s in the closet?
Renaissance fair
film noir
double-crossed
femme (or homme) fatale
swamp monster
mad scientist
buried alive
lost in the catacombs

message 5: by Mark (last edited Dec 01, 2011 07:37AM) (new)

Mark What's in the closet sounds interesting, as does mysterious caller.

message 6: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Interrogation ... I've been wanting to do that one.

I like mysterious caller too.

message 7: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Coming up with topics is a whole lot easier than writing stories.

message 8: by Jessica (last edited Dec 01, 2011 08:16AM) (new)

Jessica (eyrer) armor, ballet, crypt, dungeon, eloquence, fireside, gravity, hell, itch, June, kiss, London, ocean, pomegranate, rift, sunspot, tickle, ulcer, villain, wax, yolk, loyalty, ritual, obsession, silence, currency, sweat, meat, window, embroidery, children, milestone, truth, foal, hero

message 9: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Ah, armor and dungeons. I ordered a main gauche dagger this morning to go with the rapier I wore to the Renaissance festival.

message 10: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Pomegranate. Let's do that next week.

message 11: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I hope calculus is easier for you than it was for me.

message 12: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments I have to do remedial math for my college, even though math is my best subject. I just got really bored with it several years back and stopped studying it. Actually, if I try I can typically figure out 90% of the trigonometry and about half of the calculus even though I looked at books on those subjects maybe once each ... that's what I did on the ACT. I stopped trying on the placement test for college and am feeling very stupid about it now.

Anyway, I have no idea why a psych major would use with math, except maybe statistics to look for patterns in populace.

message 13: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Possibly.

I've just discovered the strange wonder of Spam.

message 14: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Ingredients: Pork with Ham, Salt, Water, Modified Potato Startch, Sugar, Sodium Nitrite. Sounds healthier than most canned soups, although even I think it's a bit high on the salt.

Hm, yep, seems very probable.

message 15: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments It's all pig, not cow. Anyway, it seems very practical for a variety of reasons: North of a thousand calories in a small package for two or three dollars. It keeps for about two years without over doing the perservatives. It is definitely a good food to store during good times in case of bad times.

I would never be a vegetarian. For one, I doubt the health benefits of it and, for another, I really like meat.

Turkey legs at a festival ... so good.

message 16: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Have you ever had liver? I tried it at a few restraunts and it was terrible, but then my mum made it and it was delicious.

message 17: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments So, how do you feel about shrimp or lobster or haddock or cod?

message 18: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments I immediately cringe when I hear those names. :O
The only seafood I actually somewhat like is crab.
Alex, you love your drunken meats? It figures. ;)

message 19: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments I'll eat almost anything without grains. Grains don't agree with me ... Seafood is great.

Cooking with alcohol is amazing. The one thing my mum isn't too good at, somehow.

You really need sleep.

message 25: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Necrophobia ... better than the opposite. If you want to talk about creepy.

Subliminal messaging kind of suggests, you know, a message. What would be the point of briefly showing us a skull?

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments XD

message 27: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Alex, have you been hanging around some medical school’s old anatomy amphitheater to get raw material for your stories?

message 28: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments My father wanted me to be a surgeon. There were several things, however, that alerted me that medical school probably wasn’t for me. For one thing, I wasn’t interested in a career in medicine. For another, I fainted at the sight of blood. For yet another, I was incapable of reading at length. So I majored in English.

message 29: by M (last edited Dec 03, 2011 10:50AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments It seems to me that a background in psychology and English would be an asset not only in life but in a lot of careers. People judge by appearances, and writing well is like dressing well or having polished manners. If you know how to figure people out, you know which of their buttons to push to get what you want.

message 30: by Guy (new)

message 42: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) A fun one to do might be something to do with fruit. There are so many different kinds for people to pick from and colors and ways of growing. Ways to eat it, or just look at it, there is a wealth of ideas there.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Stephanie wrote: "Speak from experience guys?"

message 46: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Why not a theme about the future. I think that would be a lot of fun to write.

message 47: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 181 comments Maybe, like, something supernatural. Like the X-Files.

message 48: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments The wish that unfortunately came true.
I thought you were dead.
What looked back at me from the alley.
Who knocked at the door.
Sounds from the next apartment.
What I became after it got dark.
