The Book has landed!
A Goodreads GallimaufreyCan't you tell I'm a rookie?
Just promoted it on Amazon so I eagerly await my first no-vote!
Here is A link http://www.amazon.co.uk/A-Goodreads-G... but it would be good to go through the forum store.
It was put up at 99c on Amazon.com, but I get $1.33 when I look (which isn't unusual because the prices never seem right when I look at the US site). Can someone who buys from .com take a look and confirm the price please?
You see a price of $1.33 because you're looking from the UK, so they add sales tax. The price will be 99 cents though to people in the US. P.S. Just downloaded a copy :)

Different sales tax for those who live in Ireland I guess.
Certainly, forum store purchases will add value. Newer members might not realise that Simon (moderator) personally paid for £10 Amazon vouchers for the first few quizes and games we held. It's nice to think that we are paying our own way with group store purchases and of course, buying our own book.
Oh brilliant! Thank you so much to Ignite, Darren and everyone in our group who put themselves into the book. We've done a lovely thing, people!
Darren certainly needs a big pat on the back for the technical help he gave. It wouldn't have been the same without him (added to which, he wrote 2 of the short stories!)
I've sidled into Amazoo and put a promo on. If you care to go and make some comment, take your protective clothing!Rats - I've got to go out now for a couple of hours.
If you've bought it (if you haven't there's no excuse!) go and stick up for the group on Amazon. Please. With sprinkles.
Unfortunately Simon is the only one who can add it to the store. Hopefully he'll be able to get on-line soon in order to do it.I hope he's having a lovely trip.
brilliant. sorry i am in transit. i doubt if my kindle will let me update the store but i will try.you could try adding &tag=ethings-21
to any links. will try and buy it now.
Ignore me. Just testing my next group PM.

bought it. Ignite you have done a great job -with a little help from your friends. i am smiling stupidly here.i will go om amazon in a minute but i am a no vote magnet over there these days.
Great job. This group is more than i could have ever expected.
Thanks everyone - it really was a collaborative effort. I love making Simon smile stupidly!Don't worry about going in Amazon - I've got some no-voters of my own now. I feel like I've really made it!
Wow. just wow! I am speeding my way through it and there is some amazing writing there. We are a talented bunch!
It's a shame really. If only the no voters would realise how much fun we have and how welcome they are to join in. *shakes head sadly*
I handed his kindle to Dave when he got in for lunch a bit ago and he's not spoken since. He's totally immersed!
Well done Kath, Darren, et al. I've just bought a copy for when I get my Kindle, although I'll probably dip into a few of the short stories on my laptop in the meantime. Just realised I forgot to go through the group store and am preparing a suitable switch from a birch tree in the garden with which to punish myself. Just a thought, but the book would get more hits if you added all the contributors through KDP. That way it will pop up whenever anyone searches by any of the authors who contributed.
Steve wrote: "Just a thought, but the book would get more hits if you added all the contributors through KDP. It might be an idea to add those who have other books on sale, but I really don't want to be unfair to the other contributors for whom it is a first time. They have been seriously brave.
Brave - oo-er. But I would be happy to allow published authors to have first place in the kdp google-hits queue.I just think it might add another layer of problems to what is really a happy and co-operative venture. Maybe see what the other non-authors think?
Only 10? I didn't realise.I've just tweeted this to my Twitter followers
'A #Goodreads Gallimaufrey' now on #Kindle. An anthology of short stories, non-fiction, poems and recipes for 86p. amazon.co.uk/A-Goodreads-Ga…
Hope it helps. :o)
Well Gingerlily - there are firsts here for lots of us!Whoops, edit to say thank you Steve - I'm so excited I've forgotten my manners!
I've just purchased a copy (sounds rather posh, doesn't it? "Purchased a copy") Congratulations, Kath, you've done a great job in putting it all together. My hat comes off to Darren also for his technical know-how.
Simon (Highwayman) wrote: "I dont need to be mentioned as an author if that helps. will you post our amazon rank here?"Who, me? I just collate and correct - I need another geek!

Does it cost more if you 'purchase it?

Gallimaufrey – an almost obsolete culinary term meaning a hotch-potch or motley collection of items. This is an anthology of short stories, non-fiction, poems and recipes from the authors and readers of the Goodreads UK Amazon Kindle Forum. You will find funny, supernatural, serious and silly here and there’s even a short visit from a lady vampire. Easy recipes from our site’s threads complete the collection. The forum is a happy, friendly, book centred place where readers and authors enjoy interaction and mutual respect and this book is our first joint venture.
