Running I have been an avid reader since I was a child and have read hundreds of books. It wasn't until this summer that I started to keep track of books that I have read so there are many more that I have forgotten. I've discussed this on a previous board and people seem to have the same problem.

So why not start a board where people can post about books where they can remember just the plot and not the title or author. (but if you have some inkling it might jog someone elses memory)

So here is mine:

I know its about a woman who is raising her younger sister after their parents died in a car accident. After sleeping with her husbands best friend, her husband (Maybe just boyfriend or fiance, but I think the parents died the night of their wedding) hangs himself in her art studio.

Anyone know this book? If you have other books your uncertain about, post away!

This is a great idea for a discussion.

I read a book that was suggested by a friend back in '83 and would love to find it again. The friend is long gone, so that's a dead end.

The book concerns a relationship between a boy and a girl who are brought together after he hits a baseball over a lake (showing off during a town picnic) and accidentally hits her, crippling her for life. The relationship is guilt-ridden, mainly because no one knows who hit the ball.

The most memorable scene is a ball game between a group of all-stars from Hell (coached by Satan) against a group of second rate ball players from Heaven. In order to win, they recruit the Hellish all-stars' mothers to play for their team, which causes the guys from Hell to throw the game, because even they can't strike out their moms.

That's really all I can remember about the book (I was 18 when I read it) but I'd love to find it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
