Traci Who were your favorite characters?
Any favorite scenes?
Want to share any quotes or sections that made you laugh.

Traci Favorite character, DEATH and I also liked Mister Teatime (Teh-ah-tim-eh)

Something from the book that made me laugh,
"Getting an education was a bit like a communicable disease. It made you unsuitable for a lot of jobs and then you had the urge to pass it on."

;)

I haven't read this yet, but I love Pratchett's humor. That is a funny quote.

Becky +++cucumber error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

I don't believe that this is very far off from what I feel some days...

Ben (benkaboo) My two favourite scenes (ones that caused me to stop reading, go back and read them to my wife).

i) Death in the department store (Little bobble hat kid 'nk you' and DEATH 'So we have a contract'

ii) Right at the end with Susan and Death having saved the Hogfather. The sun wouldn't have risen; a great big ball of burning gas would have illuminated the sky; along with the whole spiel about human's needing to believe in the hogfather (little lies) so they can be conditioned to believe in the big lies (justice, compassion etc).

That's my 2 cents. Thanks for sharing.

Barbm1020 Ben, I think it's a bit more hopeful than believing in the big lies. DEATH says we have to believe in things "so that they can become." e.g. believe in mercy and you might actually show some. Even DEATH shows mercy to the kids as the Hogfather, and we all know that "Death don't have no mercy in this land."

I liked Hex a lot, and I liked Ponder Stibbons and Adrian Turnipseed as the I.T. guys with their acronyms - "enable the FTB" Also love the "anthill inside" label.

Mr. Teatime is just creepy!

DEATH and Susan are awesome as always, especially their banter and reluctant teamwork. I like that Susan can kill monsters and only monsters, with a fireplace poker.

Didn't mean to be a downer, that's just how I remember it being expressed ('find me one molecule of 'Justice).

I remember the 'feel' of it being just as you describe. Hopeful and feel-good. I guess this is underlined by his original comparison of 'the sun coming up' too 'a big ball of burning gas illuminating the globe'.

All of the above are just my recollections and impressions.

I think Mr Teatime (it's pronounced Tea-eh Time-a ;-) was the perfect villain to play against death. Not some power hungry wizard but a genuine whack-job.

Thanks for sharing.
