Jonathan wrote: Also Shakespeare's birthdate is believed to be around April he was baptized 26th of April..."I was taught that Shakespeare was born on the 23rd - St Georges Day - and also died on the 23 April, the exact day that Cervantes also died.
Jimmy wrote: "I was taught that Shakespeare was born on the 23rd.."Oh cool I didn't know that I always heard something like they didn't know the exact date.
Yes they don't know the exact date of birth but only when he was baptised, and because in those times babies were usually baptised three or so days after they are born they procured his birthday from this info.
Nicolle wrote: "You look way older than 17!"I've heard that often and sometimes I feel a lot older. I've always been one of those people who can fit into different age brackets with ease. I have multiple friends older or younger than me as well as my own age.
Me too, my friends are generally older though (best friend is 20). Though I can't say I look that old as I still get asked for ID to buy the lottery! (I'm 18) which insinuates that they think I am 15 or under! I haven't tried to buy alcohol yet but I expect the same. If people still ask for ID in 20 years time I don't think I will mind...
Hey Nicolle...once you turn 32 and still get asked for ID you won't complain anymore.....TRUST ME!!! It's the best question anyone can ask!!!!!
I bet it is...I take it that that happens to you! (though our age limits in the UK are different it is still a compliment!)
Nicolle wrote: "Wow, that's amazing...I am coming to the conclusion that reading makes you look younger!"I also think reading helps to broaden your understanding of the world and your maturity.
I agree with Jonathan on that one!!!
So do I, I think even my style of writing has developed so much more after starting reading classics.
Just thought that I would mention this seeing as we are reading her book in January, but Betty Smith who wrote A tree grows in Brooklyn, her Birthday is on December 15th!!!!
That's cool I was busy myself on the day anyway. I received heaps of classic novel things from it though. I now have the complete Sherlock Holmes and Shakespeare.
Well, by the looks of it our March read is going to be a bit of Sherlock Holmes so you will be sorted. :)
