Persephone Books discussion

Is anyone done with this one? I really enjoyed this one, and got through it pretty quickly! This is yet another book about war, but this one was definitely more hopeful in tone than other books we've read. I loved the character of Miss Ranskill, and felt so frustrated when everyone misunderstood her. The plot was quite interesting...one would imagine that living on a desert island for three years would be really difficult, but then Miss Ranskill returns to an England in the midst of war and finds living her new life to be challenging in ways she never anticipated.

I'm about half way through. What an amazing idea for a story....I'm curious to see what happens next. Poor Miss Ranskill...what situations she's getting into.
