Ireney Berezniak I have been looking to find fiction on the subject of Teutonic Knights/Teutonic Order, particularly set in 14th and 15th century Prussia. It was an interesting moment in history, when the Order was given lands in Culmerland to help subjugate, or at least defend against, and Christianize the pagan Old Prussian clans. The Order, having completed the task, established a monastic state, settled firmly in the region, and began expanding its territory at the cost of Baltic states, Lithuania and Poland, until being defeated in 1410. This monastic state eventually gave rise to Prussia, famous for its militarism in the 1700s and 1800s.

I am hoping you guys might be aware of some titles. The only novel I know of is the aptly titled The Teutonic Knights by Henryk Sienkiewicz.

Dawn (caveatlector) Michener seems to have had quite the varied interests, his books show up in quite a few of the threads.
The Teutonic Knights looks very good, pretty epic at almost 800 pages.

Terri | 19576 comments He certainly was a lover of history. I don't often read books on the Knights. I think it is more that the right one has never presented itself, moreso than a complete lack of interest.

D.P.G. Farrington | 3 comments Heathenesse by D.P.G. Farrington In case you're interested, I've written a 14th century-set novel located in present-day Poland, Kaliningrad and Lithuania. It's a story about an English lord and his entourage going on a (rather hapless) reisen to Königsberg, then on into Samogitia.

I thought it might be interesting if you're still on the lookout for Teutonic Knight-related fiction.

I've written one about the heroic actions of a Teutonic knight carrying a terrible war wound, and the brave efforts of a diminutive, disabled servant girl, her affliction wrought at conception, striving to bring positive closure to an ancient saga.
