Walking Dead
I'm not much of a zombie fan, but I have been enjoying the series. It's well written and interesting.
I'm not a big zombie movie fan either, but I find Walking Dead very enjoyable--even the "Talking Dead" discussion afterwards. I didn't start watching until this season, so now I'm going back to watch season one.
I love that show, too, and I agree, Jackie - the ending shocked me. I'm usually able to figure out where the story was going, but that one had me fooled. Now I have to wait until next season to find out what's going on :(
You can feel our pain, Bill because we are seem to be behind on so many great British shows like Dr. Who and Bedlam...
Ha! I didn't get to see Bedlam either, it's on a digital channel I don't get. Supernatural has moved out of range of my remote too now. Seen discussions on a few interesting US progs in this last week (Grimm, Person of Interest, American Horror Story, Once Upon a Time) I hope some of them make over here to a channel I get ;-)
When oh when do we get to see the next season of Being Human (British version)...I have never seen Person of Interest, but I keep hearing it mentioned. I will have to check it out.
Person of Interest isn't supernatural, but it's still great. It's kind of a spy/thriller thing. Like 24 maybe?
Jackie, I was wondering the same thing about Being Human. I haven't heard anything and I absolutely love that show!
I love this show - can't wait for it to come back after the break in February! Think this season is even better than the first.
Okay, who watched the season opener on Sunday? The ending nearly did me in! (view spoiler)
I think I like Herschel better this season than I did the last one.

Sometimes, that show is difficult for me to watch since it's so harsh! That opening scene with the dog food was awful. Poor Lori. I can't imagine being that pregnant while fighting off zombies :P
Actually I didnt get why he wouldnt let the kid eat that dog food. At that point, when you are desperate, food is food!

I know, right? I think the idea of it just pushed him over the edge. Still, imho, eating an owl is hardly better than dog food.

Okay...what did everyone think about last Sunday's episode? (view spoiler)
I can't wait until next Sunday!

I know, remember when Glen wasn't so kick ass! All he wanted was a fast ride! lol. Look at him now! :D

For a while there, I worried that he was going soft! But that was an amazing scene last week.

Depressing the mid season finale is already coming this Sunday. Curious what cliffhanger they'll end with.
That's the problem with a show that's so good!! Sometimes, I'll not watch a show on purpose just so I can watch it later on on DVD. (Like Supernatural or Being Human UK).
I saw it and I agree!! Ugh. Hated that. I really want Rick to let Michonne stick with the group. They obviously could use her for strength. Does anyone here watch "The Talking Dead"? The host is a bit annoying at times, but it's really a good show if you like the talking dead. They had the actor that plays Glen on there last night. Also this season they are finally playing it directly after the walking dead. Glen has come a long way!

Glen is my favorite character! He was totally kick-a$$ at the end of last season. And to think he was only a humble pizza delivery boy before the zombies, lol.

The group really needs Michonne around, just like they need Darryl, and Tyreese especially with (view spoiler)Not only do I watch the Walking Dead, but the Talking Dead, and I read the graphic novels compendium The Walking Dead, Compendium 1 and two of the novels which feature backstory The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor. Yeah, I'm a little obsessed.
Like Kevin Smith, I am kinda thrilled Glenn's character didn't get dead before he was on The Talking Dead, because that's been a bit of a trend.
This is DEFINITELY one of my fav shows. I just felt bad for (view spoiler) Can't wait for next week!

Don't know why or how....but I love this show. I scream out loud at the t.v. And get emotionally involved like I never do with other shows. Crazy...I never knew I was so whacko!

Okay I know this is season 2 question, but I'm watching reruns. Would you rather have Darryl or Shane at your back?
That's my feeling too. Now I'm at the place where (view spoiler) They so need Darryl. And I'm so hooked on Walking Dead. It's like a crack habit--I'm ashamed of myself but I can't give it up.Do you think anyone in their world is still hooked on drugs?
Andrea..what a funny thought! The drugs sure wouldn't be that easy to get anymore. I am betting anyone that was hooked on drugs didn't make wise choices and got eaten earlier on. :)
In the books (view spoiler) but I can't remember any others. (Though some anti-psycotics surely might help Rick right now...)The books are different in tone from the tv series. On AMC we've got at least two ensembles: the group around Rick and the group in Woodbury. The graphic novels are told from Rick's POV, pretty much. Where the novel novels are told from the POV of characters that aren't in the graphic novels or are only in them peripherally.
I'm hoping Tyrese etc.& the Spanish- speaking family on the bridge (they are going to be back, IMO) make it to the prison tonight before the Governor comes back.
I'd like to see the Spanish speaking family again as well as the group Rick kicked out of the prison. Though they must have some doubts about Rick after his little outburst. As for the drugs, I think you'd be right Julia. Anyone into heavy drugs probably wouldn't last long.
It's funny to hear about all the differences in the different formats. I've only seen the television show. It seems like it might get confusing if you're into all 3.
Andrea said: It seems like it might get confusing if you're into all 3. Not at all.
They are very different. They explore different aspects of the Walking Dead universe. The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor is a novel novel about how the Governor became the Governor. It's all about the characters. As you might expect, Rick and his group are not in it and that's fine.
Characterization isn't a strong suit of the graphic novels, in fact, it's sometimes hard to figure out who is talking, because the characters can look alike. It's all about the situation.
In the tv show, we just need Carl looking at Rick to know what is happening between them.
Has anyone else been watching "The Walking Dead" in black and white? (On Thursdays at 8:00 on AMC they are showing season one in order in black and white.) It's quite beautiful, considering the subject matter. In black and white it's all about shadows and shades of gray.Just sayin...

I've considered it, but I suddenly got hooked on Game of Thrones, and now my TV watching time is limited, lol. The commercials look cool, though.
