It's a cool idea for a group - many of the groups here on goodreads only read the first one of a series so I think the idea of reading thorugh the whole set of books is an excellent idea.
Tomorrow February 2012 begins (and gives us one extra day to read since it's a leap year). By the end of March, we will have completed reading and discussing all of our current series:
Liveship Traders
Malazan
Riyria Revelations
So start thinking about what you want to read next. As we approach March, I'll post topics for nominations for a 'featured' series (to start at the first of the month) and an 'alternate) series (to start on the ides of a month).
I look forward to your excellent suggestions and thank you so much for continuing to participate in our series discussions.
Hmmm. Sandra - if you are stil haning around can you update the 'master' list and add The Riyria Revelations to the first post?
Helen wrote: "Definitely the next Hobb series."I think I will enjoy Hobbs (will be reading and catching up on my own...but I would like to branch out a bit and try "antother author". Nothing against Hobbs but there are so many great ones out there I would just like to see some diversificaiton.
Elizabeth wrote: "Hmmm. Sandra - if you are stil haning around can you update the 'master' list and add The Riyria Revelations to the first post?"Done.
Is Liveship Traders a separate series or a continuing part of Farseer? Does anyone know what comes next after Liveship, Helen?
I'm wondering why someone hasn't started a thread for the 2nd book in the Riyria Revelations? It's listed as the one you're reading this month? Elizabeth, aren't you leading the discussion?
There was a thread for Rise of Empire - But only the first book of it - I made one for the second book in the second volume just now.

I thought so. Thx.
Traci wrote: "The Tawny Man books are my favorites. :)"Mine also, at least in hindsight. First time through, they nearly resulted in me throwing the last book against a wall. The ending is, to say the least, controversial.
Why isn't Tawny Man listed as upcoming read? Also, Jon, weren't you going to make a Realm of Elderlings folder?
Sandra aka Sleo wrote: "Why isn't Tawny Man listed as upcoming read? Also, Jon, weren't you going to make a Realm of Elderlings folder?"Tawny Man #1 is slated to begin on March 1st. I see it on the front page of the group.
I created the folder for the series. That doesn't mean I actually created a topic in that folder.
Do you want me to do that as well? What should I call the topic?
Posting here because the nominations thread is currently closed. Last day to vote on our next series read. We have a tie for second place, which will be our alternate series running concurrently with the winner. Mistborn has a commanding lead over the tied second place series of First Law and Wheel of Time.
Just hours to go before polls close.
I am interested in reading Dragons of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. The problem I'm having is finding out the reading order. Does anyone have a list or a link where I might find the proper reading order?? Would help me out a lot.
http://www.annemccaffrey.org/books/se...This web site gives the chronological order, including where overlaps happen.
Junayd wrote: "Are you guys planning on reading GRRM's series?"That will depend on the next time we take nominations and vote.
Earliest would be Q1 next year, or possibly Q2.
Thanks, Jon

Thanks for the info I guess I'll just skip buying the series and instead by Joe Abercrombie or Robin Hobb!
Junayd wrote: "I guess I'll just skip buying the series and instead by Joe Abercrombie or Robin Hobb!"I didn't mean to discourage you from reading GRR Martin. We may very well read him in the future, just not in the near future. :)

No of course I'm not discouraged but it's just that I'd rather buy the books that I the group will read soon. So no prob :)
GRRM very good, I read the first three books after the third was published (it was in 4 actual books) but I'm waiting forthe conclusion now.
Hi everyone, I'm new and haven't had a chance to read all the posts so forgive me if I ask questions that have already been answered or I'm a bit lost. I've actually read the farseer and tawny man trilogies by robin hobb a few times and just reread the farseer series again last month. They are wonderful. I also have read joe abercrombie's series and I happened to be about half way through the first riyria book when i stumbled upon this. Just wanted to say hi and that I'm excited to be apart of this. Having read a lot of these books, I have some suggestions of books people may enjoy if they enjoyed these. Otherwise, nice to meet everyone!
Hi Corbin, if you enjoyed Abercrombie we are just starting The Heroes. So Jo in and join the discussion, we are a friendly lot:)

The Wars of Light and Shadow by Janny Wurts
The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist
The Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson (still ongoing)
The Farseer series by Robin Hobb (still ongoing)
The Riyria Revelations
We're a new group and reading a series at a one book a month pace makes for slow going. :)
