message 5: by Javed (last edited Dec 08, 2011 08:20AM) (new)

Javed Hayat (javed_hayat) Writing. Discussing a certain book, character, writer etc. Occasionally, a bit of PC gaming. Movies of course. Though very little music. And I hardly ever watch TV, unless there is a Pak cricket match on, and only if it is worth watching. I also do play chess, though not very regularly. And I also enjoy art, though I dont profess to understand much about art etc, nor pretend to. I would always enjoy something unconventional, enigmatic, weird, possibly even dark. So long as there is a method to it.

message 24: by Javed (last edited Dec 17, 2011 06:46AM) (new)

Javed Hayat (javed_hayat) Oh lol. I actually called at Kitabian/Reader's Club, and someone on the other side told me it was 10-7.

Was there today. And it was great. Glad that Readings stall was there, becoz dont thinkI wld have enjoyed the bookfair too much had that not being the case, since I am strictly into fiction stuff. Liberty's fiction section just wasnt upto the mark.

Well, they did mention that there wld be an outlet in khi pretty soon.

Yes that stall was great, everything but fiction was great :-P. There were lots of sections, religion, science, history etc etc.

AND PARAS, it feels good as long as I know you all were there, we recognize each other by the books we read not by faces ;-).

I agree about literary fiction and translations.

@Zeeshan
I do look at other sections other than fiction. I am just not affectionate with self-help one :p

message 38: by Farzan (new)

Farzan (farzansheikh) | 9 comments I wonder why I was missing out on this convo. Visited thrice. Readings was way better than Liberty. Paramount had virtually nothing to offer. And oh, I asked the manager at Readings, said they will be coming to Karachi sometime soon.

well, readers turn into philosophers eventually if they don't give up reading that is :-P, and there is nothing wrong with it, so..!!
